爱 fanfic : y/n x toman : ♡ • ›

🐿: it had been a few weeks after draken-kun was in hospital after surviving his operation due to the stab wound, and by now things had finally started to go back to normal. but it didn't take much to change the situation for 'normal'.

y/n had just woken up, it was a monday morning but something felt off. unsure of what you began to search for the answer around the house.

you realized it.

"kei, new gang?" you mumbled rubbing your eyes pointing at your older brothers jacket. it felt off to look at. it didn't sit right at all. why would he give up on touman now of all times? it wasn't his style after all.

he shrugged his shoulders avoiding confrontation about the subject. obviously it made him uncomfortable to talk about. but why? did a serious fight happen with mikey-kun? no. kei wouldn't drop that gang over a fight.

"i'm off." he said simply, it felt a little cold, the way he spoke to you. it actually kind of hurt the tone, the jacket, the mood. was he trying to conceal you from realizing the situation? covering up whatever intentions were there?

what ever it was, it didn't suit your brother in the slightest.

─────

you had intended to go to school today, as you usually did to keep good grades, but right now it was the last thing on your mind. and just like that, you skipped on going. instead winding up at the park.

its not like it would matter too much, your mother was never around to scold you for not attending one day of school, as for your older brother who wasn't acting himself. it wouldn't matter much, right? once you attended for your tests next week before summer vacation.

it was more or less deserted. it didn't seem to bother you much, you just sat there on the swing on your flip phone.

it wasn't that warm unlike the previous days this week, and it honestly was weird considering it was the middle of july. minutes turned into hours and before you realized it, you had been there from 10 am, to 4 pm.

but an unsightly 'thing' really fucked up your procrastination. chifuyu matsuno with a fucked face being dragged into the park from the other end by a group of valhalla men. yikes, that's the same gang that baji seemed to join. what the fuck was he doing in that gang if they literally beat one of his best friends half to death?

you shoved your flip phone into your pocket and slowly walked over to the unconscious male after the 'others' had left the park.

"yikes, that looks hella sore." you mumbled peering down at the boy who looked dead on the floor.

"it is." he mumbled with a cough, catching you off guard. how long was he awake? it didn't make much of a difference either way.

"what happened?" you asked helping the boy to his feet as he unsteadily regained control over his legs. letting him use your shoulder as a support beam. it was sorta sore, considering how much weight he had to lean on your petite figure.

"you wouldn't want to know." he assumed. it was a bitter expression he had on his face, leading you to several conclusions on what happened, but none you wanted to accept.

. . .

the both of you fell silent after that. he understood you had already deducted what actually happened. perks of both of you having a close bond to keisuke baji. it was pitiful to think about.

"you think he's serious about that gang?" chifuyu commented. it must've hurt for him to even have to say that. losing faith in someone you've known for how long even for a split second. ouch . . . poor guy, he's all over the place right now.

"no" you replied simply. even if you yourself had some doubt about it, keisuke wouldn't betray his friends in such a harsh way, it just didn't sit. but either way you didn't want to think about the reasons to beat the shit out of chifuyu, and so you began helping the boy over to a park bench giving you the freedom of half the weight on your shoulders.

"do you need help getting back to your place?" i asked simply, signaling that i would be leaving sooner rather than later.

"no, i'll be fine thanks, and thank you for everything. especially the reassurance about baji-kun y/n i really needed it." the boy replied with a small smile upon his throbbing face.

it was nice, and left you feeling warm inside.

you nodded simply and bid farewell to chifuyu, you liked ending it on his words it felt nicer like that. ★
