"Hey Reyes!" I say as she walks to the counter.
"Hey,Jessica. How's your day?" She asks.
She seems cheerful.
"My day has been good,thank you"
"Um,I'll have a medium black with three cubes,please" she says
"Sure,ma'am" I joke..
She chuckles,then goes to her seat..
Nathan has been here,winking and making faces. I can't concentrate well,actually😂
I hand Reyes' coffee to her and I walk over to Nathan..
"Don't you have anywhere to be,now?" I ask him with my hands on my hips
"Nope. My shift at work was over hours ago" he replies
"Well,can you stop distracting me?" I ask annoyed
"No"
I groan...
"Have you spoken to your dad today?" He asks
"No,I've been busy.. I spoke to him weeks ago" I reply
"That was at the airport,Jessy;When he was leaving....I don't think you've spoken to him since when he left" he points out.
"But mom has" I reply
"And you haven't"
I groan..
"Fine,I'll squeeze out time" I reply.
"Now,get back to work" he says.

"I can't believe you waited till the end of my shift" I say as we walk to Nathan's car.. I didn't bring my car today,although I insisted that he shouldn't drop me off,he has once again been able to convince me..
"I figured you needed the company,shadow fighter" he smirks..
I get into his car and he starts driving....
"Do you want me to come in to see mom?" He asks
"No"
"Are we friends?" He asks out of the blue.. That caught me off guard.
"I don't know.. You can decide that"
"Fine then.. We're friends" he replies
"Whatever"
"Are you tired?" He asks
"What's it with the questions?" I ask bluntly
"I'm just checking on a friend"
"Don't stress me after a long day at work,Do you know how stressful it is to go to school,go to work and come back late at night?"
"Woah!," He starts with widened eyes..
"Are you okay?"
"I'm fine. I'm just tired,and I have a test tomorrow,and I also have to be at work earlier tomorrow because I came a bit late today"
A concerned look grows on his face..
"You'll be fine,Jessy.. You've been doing all this for years and it hasn't killed you,has it?.. And the Jessy I know is fierce and I believe in her" he replies..
That made me feel so much better..
"Thanks" I say,managing to smile..
"I'll see you tomorrow,then" he says coming to a stop in front of my house
"Sure,thanks again" I say.
I get down and I walk inside like a zombie.... Tired..
Mom is sprawled on the couch,sleeping like an angel..
