College today was a bit stressful, but whatever.. I'm at work now, and Nathan hasn't come around..
Reyes comes in with puffy eyes and she places an order..

"Are you okay? " I ask her as she looks away

"Yes..  Can I have a medium black coffee with three cubes" she says and walks to a table

I nod, still concerned and I begin to make her coffee ..
Immediately I'm done with her coffee, she doesn't let me bring it to her, instead, she walks over to the counter, and pays for it.. She sits at a table around the back, and I watch how her eyes hold no emotion..

For the past few months I've known her, something keeps bothering her, and all I know is that it has to do with her dad..  I don't wanna seem nosy or pushy, but I really wanna help her..
The only confusing thing here is that the few times her dad has come here, he has always seemed okay..

*,*,*,
Immediately I open the front door,I spot mom on the couch. I walk closer to have a clearer look, and my heart literally breaks.. her eyes are puffed, her nose is slightly running and her cheeks are red.

"Mom" I calmly say approaching her

"I can't pretend to be strong anymore" she says looking at me

"It's okay mom. Stop crying" I say running my hands through her hair

"I miss him so much, and I can't hide that.. he was abusive, but I noticed him trying to change.. I didn't tell you he was even seeing a therapist. He's not a very embracing person, but he-" she stops and breaks into sobs

"It's okay mom,I'm here" I whisper soothing words to her

"You're too young for all this I'm making you go through.. do you know what it is for a woman to lose her soulmate? The only person who understands every face you make, the only person you could talk to without feeling embarrassed" she says and takes deep breaths every now and then

"Mom,calm down" I say as I hug her even tighter as tears fall from my eyes

"I just hope he's happy wherever he is" she whispers as I let go

"Have you eaten? You look pale" I ask and she nods

"What did you have?"

"I ordered some pizza. The leftovers are in the fridge"

"See," I grin. "you're eating now.. Don't let dad's death affect you. He left for a reason, and you should be happy you still have your daughter with you.. mom the least you can do for me is to be happy with yourself and the situation you're in, because many people have lost their husbands and children at the same time, but that's not your case. So can that serve as hope?" I ask

She smiles weakly
"Yes darling"

I give her a peck as I walk to the kitchen
"I'll make something for you"

She gets up,but I notice her almost lose balance...

"Are you okay?" I ask

"I feel very dizzy" she replies and I furrow  my brows

"You took your drugs?" I ask

"Yes,I did"
She tries to stand up again, but she hastily seats back...

"Everything's spinning" she says as she begins to take deep breaths

"Mom, should we see a doctor?" I ask

"No need for that honey" she says with her eyes still closed.

She opens them and my heart finally becomes steady..
