He didn't laugh when I told him I didn't have a date to prom.

"That's actually sad" he says.

I nod as I take some water.

"I haven't even had my first kiss yet," I say and my cheeks slightly flush at the realization of what I just said. "Until you"

"I'm your first kiss?" He asks.

"No," I shake my head. "I had my first kiss with you"

"Same thing," he replies and I roll my eyes. "How was I your first kiss?? That's hard to believe"

"Well, you better believe it because it's true"

He reaches across the table for my hand and holds it in his. He smiles at me.

"You're goddamn beautiful" he whispers and stares at me for the gazillionth time tonight.

"I know" I chuckle.

"Can I ask you something?" He asks still holding my hand.

"Sure,as long as there's no decision making" I laugh.

"Oh,there is"

"Oh,okay then. I should be able to handle it"

"Will you be my girlfriend?"

Sweet mother of abs.

Sweet cherry lickerish.

Whaat?.

Calm down. You can handle this. You're an adult. You're an adult.

He looks patient. And that calms me down a bit.

His eyes look welcoming and I take a deep sigh.

Do I want this? Yes.

Do I know what I'm getting into? Maybe.

Is he handsome enough to be my boyfriend? Um,is that even a question.

I know I like him,and I've gotten used to seeing or hearing his voice everyday. Mom loves him already.

If I say yes, then I have to be prepared.

If I say no,then I also have to be prepared.

But, Justin isn't the type to throw stuff around if I say no. Or is he?.

It's just a relationship. Go for it.

Something good may come out of it.

"Justin?," I whisper as he doesn't let go of my hand. He only stares at me,and that makes me gulp. "Yes,I will love to be your girlfriend"

He grins so hard and I smile.

"Thank you," he whispers and gets up. He wraps his hands around my waist. "Damn,I'm lucky"

Justin takes a few more glasses of vodka as we continue to talk.

I sit on the mat as I stare at the stars. A few minutes later, Justin sits next to me.

"Hey," he calls my attention and holds my hand. "Look at that shooting star"

It's so beautiful, and tiny and fast.

"That's significant" he says

I nod as I continue to stare at the sky.

"Maybe we are meant to be" he adds.

I peck him on the cheek and he smiles.

"What are your plans after college?" He asks me

"I'm writing to firms," I shrug. "I've written to a law firm in Houston"
