as the plane finally took off, we could see police come in waves from the distance, but they were too late, we were long gone by now.
Mario and his men spoke in Spanish majority of the ride, I could only understand fragments of what they were saying, but my attention was more on Adio.
He held me tightly silently, and every now and then he'd just stare at me.
"Are you okay?" I finally spoke, looking up at him, still wrapped in his arms.
He looked over at me with low hanging eyes then responded, "don't know. We made it right, I should legit be fuckin ecstatic. But ion know, just feel kinda grey inside—whatever that shit mean." He explained.
"I almost lost you, shit fuckin with my head." He explained.
"Yeah but you didn't, I'm here, we made it, drenched in blood yeah, covered in holes, scratches, and bruises—yeah. But we made it, regardless of the other stuff." I told him.
"I know, but that picture of you on yo knees, gun to yo head—just waitin, I can't get it out my mind." He said honestly.
"I'm in love witchu Elijah. And I know by now you've already heard me say it before—but I ain't ever been in love. 25 and ain't ever been in love, hard to believe but it's true. So I love hard , like this shit lowkey scarin' me that I was ready to die at the thought of you being hurt or some shit."
I could tell he was having a hard time explaining how he felt. He mumbled a bit, and trailed off with his words, even his voice was a little shaky.
"I'm happy we made it, I just don't know what the future looks like for us.." he sighed.
"It looks like whatever we make it." I said simply.
"I killed someone today for you Adio. A couple moths ago I couldn't imagine even killing an animal, and today I took a life to save yours."
"I'm in love with you just as much, and I don't care about anything else, maybe it's selfish, maybe I'm crazy, but I'll do it again for you, I'll run away with you, I'll die with you."
"Ride or die.." he spoke lowly.
I nodded and grabbed his hand, squeezing it.
The rest of the flight was silent, I knew we were crossing borders because the tension on the plane got really thick, and we had to fly high enough to avoid the radars.
The moment we were across, I released a breath I didn't even know I was as holding.
We made it, finally, after everything, we made it..
"Once we arrive I'll give you two time to freshen up at a hotel, then I'll have one of my men to pick you up to meet me." Mario explained.
"About that arm," he continued, motioning to adios arm that he'd got shot in.
