Rosabella's Point of View:
"He's gone!" I cried as I sobbed on Hermione's shoulder.
Hermione hugged me tightly. Winter nuzzled her head against me and whined.
"What are you talking about? Harry, he – he hasn't –" Hermione said and I could here the tears in her voice.
"I couldn't stop him! He's gone!" I cried in anguish as tears flowed heavily down my face and onto Hermione's shoulder.
I heard Hermione let out a sob.
"RO! Jake, I found her!" I heard Jason yell but he sounded a million miles away.
Hermione released me and she wiped her.
"Rosabella Black! Where the hell –" Jason started to yell intill I had turned to face him.
He saw the devastation on my face and immediately stopped yelling. Jason immediately pulled me into a hug.
"Rosabella Black! I am going to kill –" Jacob shouted but immediately halted when, he too, saw my devastation.
"Ro, shh. Its okay." Jacob said as he patted my back soothingly.
I shook my head frantically.
"No its not! He's gone. He's gone." I sobbed.
At this point many more people had crowded round me but before anyone could say anything we heard a cold high voice that had been magnified magically.
"Harry Potter is dead. He was killed as he ran away, trying to save himself while you lay down your lives for him. We bring you his body as proof that your hero is gone." Voldemort said his voice echoing all around us.
Winter growled ferociously in response. All of us whipped round in the direction the voice came from.
"The battle is won. You have lost half of your fighters. My Death Eaters outnumber you, and the Boy Who Lived is finished. There must be no more war. Anyone who continues to resist, man, woman or child, will be slaughtered, as will every member of their family. Come out of the castle now, kneel before me, and you shall be spared. Your parents and children, your brothers and sisters will live and be forgiven, and you will join me in the new world we shall build together." Voldemort's magnified voice said.

There was silence in the grounds and from the castle. Everyone stared at each other in disbelief and when they looked at me, who probably looked just as defeated as I felt. They all looked horrified, refusing to believe what they had been told. I hid my face in Jason's chest and just let the devastation consume me. The Death Eaters were just outside the entrance hall. We all followed McGonagall outside. I took one glimpse and that was enough. A sobbing Hagrid holding a lifeless Harry in his arms. Surrounded by Death Eaters. I felt my knees buckle and if it weren't for Jacob and Jason I would have fallen to the floor. I cried heavily in despair.
    "NO!" McGonagall yelled.
The scream was the more terrible because I had never expected or dreamed that Professor McGonagall could make such a sound.
I the familiar gut wrenching sound of Bellatrix's laugh and knew that Bellatrix gloried in McGonagall's despair. In my despair.

   "No!"

   "No!"

   "Harry! HARRY!"

Jason's, Jacob's, Fiona's, Katie's, Ron's, Hermione's, and Ginny's voices were worse than McGonagall's. Jason wrapped his other arm around Katie and Jacob wrapped his arms around Ginny and Fiona.
I couldn't bring myself to scream. I had never felt so defeated. So lost. So hopeless. It felt like I would never be whole again. That nothing would replace the whole in my chest where my heart used to be.
Their cries acted like a trigger. The crowd of survivors took up the cause, screaming and yelling abuse at the Death Eathers, until -
"SILENCE!" Voldemort cried, and there was a bang and a flash of bright light, and silence was forced upon us all.
"It is over! Set him down, Hagrid, at my feet, where he belongs!" Voldemort said.
I watched through blurry eyes as Hagrid, clear forced, layed Harry down at Voldemort's feet.
"You see? Harry Potter is dead! Do you understand now, deluded ones? He was nothing, ever, but a boy who relied on others to sacrifice themselves for him!" Voldemort said, striding backward and forward right beside the place where Harry lay.
"He beat you!" Ron yelled, and the charm broke, and the defenders of Hogwarts were shouting and screaming again until a second, more powerful bang extinguished their voices once more.
"He was killed while trying to sneak out of the castle grounds, killed while trying to save himself –" Voldemort said, and there was a relish in his voice for the lie.
