Song: The Neighbourhood - daddy issues (slowed + reverb)

Josie

I had officially come to terms with the fact that I had a temper and it wasn't just the tattooed devil of a man that brought it out in me.

It was the people on the streets that wouldn't leave me alone. It was my inconsiderate co worker, Zoe who also happened to be the girl that always hung around Nico.

It was the entitled men in suits that came into the diner and thought that because I was waiting on them, they had the right to touch me.

But most importantly, it was New York.

I hurriedly make my way down the street and into the building, smiling in greeting at the doorman before rushing into the elevator.

I got stuck working a late shift because Zoe left early, claiming she had an important party to attend. It was a horrible excuse, but then again, she was a horrible waitress.

The dinging of the elevator brings me back and the moment I step into the foyer of the penthouse, I'm met with chaos.

The first thing I notice is he loud music and then it's all the strangers standing around.

I walk further into the penthouse, and heave a sigh when I gather that someone was throwing a party, and by the looks of it, it was a big one.

The sound of cheering sounds from the kitchen and I rush over, only to find the culprit standing at the island, chugging down a glass of some sort of juice.

"Ay! Rosie! Come have a drink with us." Sammy slurs holding his arms out on either side of him.

I eye him wearily as I make my way towards him. There wasn't anyone else in here aside from the two people in the corner of the room who seemed too focused on each other to pay attention to him.

I move to the other side of the island and glance over his shoulder to peek into the living room. "What's going on-" Only I stop short, losing my train of though once my eyes lock on the familiar figure in the centre of the room, looking nothing short of a king on his throne.

His muscular body is leaned back on the couch facing me, his arms spread out on either side of him and his eyes staring into mine.

Nico was back and the second my gaze shifts to watch the dark haired figure -with her back to me- straddle his lap, I know he's not alone.

It shouldn't have bothered me, but it did.

I tear my gaze away from his but I don't make it very far when my eyes naturally move to trail his alluring physique.

Even from where I stood I could still make out the way his black button up hugged his muscular frame. He had his sleeves folded up and the first few buttons popped open, exposing the inked skin of his forearms along with his chest, where two silver chains laid.

The man was truly a work of art. Pleasing to the eye and far too intricately carved to simply be beautiful.

My gaze drifts back up to his chiseled face as I follow the movement of his hand as he brings a cigarette to his lips. His lips that twitch knowingly when I realize he's caught me staring, I snap my gaze back to Sammy.
