It had been a whole year

It had been a whole year.

A whole year since Dylan left JYP Entertainment and decided to join another company. A whole year in which he tried his best to recover and treat his mental illness without delaying treatment this time around. A whole year since he started to feel at peace with where he was in life and with his career.

It had been also a whole year since he last spoke to his former members.

Dylan wasn't sure if their friendship could be restored but he held onto a tiny bit of hope. He wanted to believe that there was something that could fix their relationship. However, that belief was destroyed when his company had been hired by JYP Entertainment to film a music video.

When Dylan had learned that JYP Entertainment had contacted Diamond Media, he almost immediately accepted their contract. But when he later learned that they would be terminating their contract due to personal reasons, all hope died there.

Dylan couldn't lie and say that he wasn't disappointed.

He was hurt.

Hurt that his former best friends and company didn't want to work with his company. Dylan didn't want to guess if it was the company or if it was the members' decision. He just knew that his company was worth it and he shouldn't be feeling like a piece of trash just because of his former company and former group.

No, he was better than that. He was signed under BigHit Music. Dylan was also the CEO of one of the most successful media companies. Hell, he was even one of the heirs of the KH group. He had absolutely no reason to feel inferior.

Dylan was powerful.

He had love. From his labelmates, family, friends, and girlfriend.

His fans supported him as a soloist and actor despite leaving the group they once or still stan. Dylan saw how many fans rejoiced when he announced him signing with BigHit and how excited they were for his first album under his new label.

They showed him that he was worth it when his album was charted on Billboard. All that love and support meant more than what he was missing from his former members.

He had moved on after some time.

Of course, he felt that it was tragic how their friendship ended. For whatever reasons the members hated him, he was no longer curious to find out. They had known him for more than six years. If they couldn't have figured it out on his own, there was no reason for him to explain himself. They had already established what he did or what he didn't do.

When his thoughts were eating him alive, the members didn't try. Whenever it was clear that he wasn't fine, they didn't stop and ask him. When he returned from his hiatus, they didn't ask for the reason behind his departure in the first place. They just asked if he was leaving the group.

All of that just showed how their friendship started to crack.

There wasn't anything that both sides could do to fix it now.

_____________

"Dylan, how are you doing today? What's happening in your life?"

"Better. I've been working on my cousin's upcoming album. My nephew was born, so I'm visiting my sister almost every day. Rosie and I are talking every day despite our work schedules."

The psychiatrist looked at Dylan starting to talk more about his life. There was a real smile on his face now when compared he first started coming. He no longer smiled to hide his sadness.

It was clear that Dylan was making progress from their regular sessions when compared to when he came around once every four months. He had a much better support system in his life.

She was glad. She couldn't tell him but she was one of his fans. As a fan, she was so happy that he finally was starting to feel happy again. When she had first met him as his psychiatrist, he didn't want to really open up. Now, he no longer had a problem talking about his past and his present.

"Well, looks like our time together is up. I'll see you at our next session, Dylan."

Dylan smiled, "I'll see you next time, Dr. Jung."

This past year was clearly a year of healing for Dylan.

Healing that he needed.
