"Lisa, I have a favor to ask you" I'm currently at a couch in this office of my boss. He was the one who offered me the exhibit and the reason why I moved from Thailand to LA.
"What is it?" I ask politely while looking at him
"I have a very close friend and they will be holding a gathering like a formal party type for investors and employees. I already asked someone to do it but the main photographer had an emergency so they need to fly out of the country" he said looking straight at me
"When is it? I kinda have to go out of the country for a week so I don't know if it'll match my schedule" the exhibit won't happen till the next month. All the pictures Mingyu and I worked on will be checked and edited by a couple more people before they show it to the bosses and that's when we can open the exhibit once everything's prepared
"It is actually tomorrow.. I know it is too sudden but most of my photographers are very busy. And you don't have to stick with your thing which is black and white themed cause you don't have to pay attention to the editing and all. I just want you to be the lead photographer for the event. It's just a quick one hour or two and you're done" it seem fine for me as long as it won't take too long. My main worry right now is about time. If I can go out of the country for a week and it seems like everything is according to my schedule.
"Yeah I can give a couple of hours" I said. I look at the time and it's already 11 pm. I mostly worked with checking the pictures today and finalizing it so I was just in the building the whole day.
"Alright, you're good with it? No complains?"
"Oh one more thing.. do I have to bring my own team?" They might be busy with our own exhibit so I might ruin their schedule
"No, it's all good. The only one missing is the head photographer. Now if you want to bring Mingyu for an extra photographer, that's cool too"
"I think he's still busy with our own work so... I can go alone"
"Alright, you don't have to worry. All of the staff that will be working with you are nice and professional. Just dress up tomorrow and you're all good. I'll let them pick you up around noon so you will be there around 4:30.. the party will start at 6" I nod my head and stand up from the couch
"I'll go ahead.. it's pretty late" he nod his head and thanked me again
I am on my way to the parking lot when my phone started ringing so I picked it up and saw Jennie's name in it.
"hey" I said, i entered the parking lot and walk towards my car
"hey.. director called me when I was at work earlier" she said and by the sound of it, i think she's back at their apartment. She won't really call me if her husband is home so the quietness explains it.
"yeah? you're good with that?" I'm assuming they talked about the Amsterdam thing
"Ella's currently on a school break so i can bring her with us" she said
"will that be fine for Kang?"
"no, but he doesnt know it. The hospital won't really update him of my whereabouts and i doubt that he will actually check up on us while he's away. He actually told me last night about it and I can tell that director called in for a huge project that's why he is extremely excited about it that he could care less about leaving us for a short amount of time" I grab my car key and unlock my car as i sigh out
"I mean if he will check up on you back here, im pretty sure he will call up Cory. I'm pretty confident that she will say that you guys are here. I'm just worried that he might go further and ask the hospital"
