"Objection, Your Honor, argumentative and compound question" Jennie's lawyer said as she stand up from her seat
"Badgering the witness" Jisoo's lawyer says who is sitting right next to us "the lawyer is throwing so many questions in one go which is compound question. Argumentative cause he's badgering the witness or he is arguing or intimidating Jennie rather than asking a question" the judge then told Kang's lawyer to ask one question as he dismissed everything he just said
"Was that a good thing that he didn't let Kang's lawyer to give those statements?" It was his first question towards Jennie but I can already see how much Jennie's expression change drastically. I'm not even close to her but I know for sure that she's trying her best to look tough up there and not bawl her eyes out because of the accusations

"Judge will take note of that, especially if they will present the medical records of Jennie suffering from depression" I look towards Kang and he is just sitting there and I can tell how much he wanted to win this. He's sitting comfortably there while he's just looking at Jennie.
"Ms. Kim, who decided to get married first?" Kang's attorney ask
"My mom gave me the thought of settling down-"
"So who brought it up between the both of you?" He said cutting off Jennie from answering further
"I did" the attorney nodded as he seem pleased with the answer
"As my client told me, he took care of you and your kid, is that right Ms. Kim?"
"He did" Jennie answered honestly
"What seem to be the reason of your sudden change of heart after a long year of marriage Ms. Kim?" Didn't Jennie told the whole court about it earlier
"I told you, he was hurting me. Punching and kicking me, multiple times"
"Ms. Kim have you experienced panic attacks?" He ask
"Fuck" I said knowing where this is leading. Jisoo turn to look at me probably waiting for me to explain it. Since Jennie knows the hole where Kang's lawyer is looking she immediately sigh out.
"Ms. Kim, I'll repeat the question. Have you been having panic attacks?" Jennie nod her head once as an answer "the swelling of abdomen can also be a result of swallowing air due to a nervous habit. Am I right? Panic attacks is when it is hard to breathe and you're gasping for air, if that happen multiple times then that can also be a reason for the swollen abdomen"
"There's a huge difference of that kind of swelling and doctors are the only one who can distinguish that" Jennie said raising her voice a bit cause this attorney is really testing her
"Then if we will stick with your own interpretation as a doctor and it is really caused by trauma, can you as a doctor distinguish who caused it?" He ask, Jennie look up and sigh out again cause she's just being cornered at this point
"I can't, but I didn't do that to myself-"
"Your honor, I would like to wait for our turn to present evidences of the petitioners medical records for her mental state in the beginning of their marriage" he said cutting Jennie off once more which I know pisses her off a lot "that will be all Ms. Kim" he said returning to his seat
"How is it lookin?" Jisoo ask
"Not good" the attorney who's sitting next to us said "they focus so much on Ms. Kim's mental state which is why it is not looking good on the divorce side of the case as well as the custody for the child"
"Your honor, I would like to request for a quick break" Jennie's attorney said once Jennie walks down from the witness stand. I keep my eyes on Jennie and she's just looking at the ground while she's walking.
"We will proceed with the next witness after a 10 minute break" the judge stated. All of us stand up while looking at Jennie. She said something towards her attorney as she walk out of the side door. Her attorney then look towards us and she mouthed that Jennie's going to the rest room.
"Go talk to her" Jisoo said as she pull her phone out to answer a call. Jisoo's lawyers walk towards Jennie's attorney to probably go through what just happened.
I followed Jennie through the side door and the restroom isn't that far. It seems like no one is heading this way too so I don't think I need to be very careful. I open up the door and saw Jennie with her hands gripping the sink while she's staring at her face on the mirror. I close the door behind me and that's when she look at my way through the reflection on the mirror.
It is indeed too much for her already but she wouldn't be able to find her freedom if she won't go through this kind of process. I walk closer to her but I don't know what to do to comfort her. I don't know if I should speak, I don't know if I should pat her back.. I just don't think anything is enough to comfort her right now. So I end up just standing next to her not knowing what to do. In less than a minute she turn around and engulf me in a hug. My hand immediately find its way around her waist as I stroke her back lightly. We stayed there as I keep hearing her inhaling sharply like she's trying her best to not cry. I put my other hand on the back of her head as I keep stroking her back.
"I don't know if this will work" she said with her voice breaking
"It will work.. you're already very brave up there and I'm proud of you. You need to hang in there for yourself and for Ella. Jisoo and I are here with you, don't worry too much" I don't know if that actually helps but I can't find the right words to say.
After a couple of minutes, Jisoo walks in and gave Jennie a new bottle of water. She also informed Jennie that the court agreed on playing Kelly's video for her statement as a witness.
We went back to the court room when the break time is over. They played Kelly's video as she talked about Kang's mistreatment towards her. I've been looking at the judge while the video is playing and he did take a couple of notes down. Jisoo's lawyer said that that is probably a good thing. Since the video was recorded they can't really ask her some question about her statement. I can say that her statement helps Jennie's side a lot.
"Your honor" Kang's attorney stand up once the video is done playing. The judge turn his head to look towards them as he nod his head to let him continue. "Can we ask for a continuance so we can cross examine the witness?" He said referring to Kelly
"As far as I know, the witness is currently out of the country, am I right?" He ask looking towards Jennie's party
"Yes your honor" her attorney answers
"The court will ask the witness to join us through an online video call if she can't make it here in person for the continuance. Are you alright with that petitioner?" He ask so Jennie's attorney agrees. That means we need to go back here for another day of this trial.
"Another thing, Your honor" Kang's attorney raise his hand once more "we would like to invite someone on the witness stand for the continuation of the court trial" I don't think he really need to tell that during this session. They can just petition for it after this. "I believe a person is very much involved in this case but I don't think the petitioner will bring them for questioning" he said and that's when his eyes search the crowd and he stop roaming his eyes when he saw me "We should bring up Ms. Manoban to the witness stand"I feel like my heart dropped when he called my name. I saw in my peripheral vision that Jennie was about to stand up but her attorney stops her
"I don't find any reason on why we should bring her to the witness stand, will you please explain clearly" the judge says not knowing anything
"Your honor, Ms. Manoban is the petitioners ex girlfriend.. and current girlfriend" I look towards Kang and he has a slight smirk on his face. I look up to the judge and he seem taken aback by what he heard
