I let my eyes slowly flutter open. Pain shot through my aching muscles but I ignored them to focus on my surroundings.

The white ceiling was the first thing I saw. Then I let my gaze drift towards the sound of beeping machines on my left. I could also see a door in the corner of the room. The walls were plain white. I guessed I was in the hospital due to the pale blue tapestry acting like curtains. The amount of light entering the room from the arched windows were blinding. I turned to my right to avoid them and froze.

A man sat on the stool, staring intently at me. Our eyes locked for a moment. Confusion ran through my mind as I tried to wreck my brain to see if he belonged to my class or somewhere around my apartment. But no, I have never seen him around before.

The intensity of his brown eyes made me want to keep staring at them. It felt like I was being pulled by those orbs and sucked into a deepness I could never describe. The way he was looking at me made me shiver. It felt like he was staring into my soul. I slowly pulled my gaze away from him and focused on myself to drown the beating of my heart and the sound of the rapid loud beeping machine which must have been caused by my pulsing heartbeat.

Tubes were attached to my wrist. I couldn't help but wince slightly upon moving it a little. And then it hit me like a thunderbolt.

I was out to my apartment just because of a terrible storm. On the way, I had lost control slightly due to my fear of lightning and thunder. Did this guy bring me to the hospital? But before I had the chance to ask, someone barged in the room, a doctor.

"Oh, she is awake!" He exclaimed excitedly making me look up at him with a small frown. He looked really excited to see me? Why? I watched him exchange a few words with the guy and he moved forward. I was so confused that I didn't pay attention to their exchange. "I shall ask you a few questions, Lu– um... dear. Can you answer them?"

He looked old enough to be my father so it was ok for him to call me 'dear' but I never knew that doctor's were this happy to see their patients. I've never been to a hospital so maybe yeah, my theory must be true.

I slowly nod.

"Do you feel any pain anywhere?" He asks politely.

I shake my head since I only had slight ache in my muscles. I didn't feel any other pain. He nods and proceeds to ask about my memory and medical condition. I just nod or shake my head because I didn't feel like speaking. He even asked if I knew my name and I nodded once again to confirm.

"Can you speak?" He again asked politely. I just nodded again to which he slightly frowned a little. "My child, maybe you should voice out because–"

"Its alright, Alarick. If she doesn't want to speak please don't force her." I closed my eyes as the guy beside me spoke in a deep voice which made my breath hitch out of nowhere.

The doctor nods with a smile. "No problem, Al– uh... anyway, she is good to go. I'll hand you some medicine which she will be required to take for a few days." Then he leaves the two of us.

I try to sit up and struggle a little so the guy helps me up. He slowly places the pillows behind my back for support. His hand makes contact with my arm and I jolt up and move away quickly. My breathing labours and my heartbeat once again quickens. I stare into his eyes as electricity courses through my body.

"Sorry." He mumbles and pulls away.

I compose myself and fiddle with my fingers. What exactly happened? How could a mere touch elite such powerful feelings? I shake my head but the feel of his fingers stay imprinted on my arm.
