Chapter 7 (Meeting the Mother)

The next few days I was completely enveloped in my work and planning the wedding, I had to go back to the Hotel to make sure about the setting but first I needed to speak to Nessa about her trip. I walked out of my office to where Nessa was sitting typing on her laptop once again

"Hey Nessa" I said and she acknowledged when I sat in front of her
"Oh hi Devon I was just about to go to you, but seeing as you are already here... You have two messages from ladies that would like you to plan their daughter's weddings and then you have one from Mrs Flurry that had her wedding about a month ago" she finished and I took the papers from her
"Thank you, but the reason I came here I just wanted to let you know I will be very busy with this Domenico wedding and wanted to find out when you will be leaving for your trip with Jason?" I asked and she immediately smiled
"We were going to leave Friday if that is fine with you, I can stay if you need any help with the wedding planning-"
"Nessa I told you I can handle it besides when you come back we have to start with the next wedding that will take place three months from now" I replied and she smiled
"Please Dev if there is anything you need I have my phone with me" she rambled again

"Nessa you have a great time besides I will be busy with this wedding anyway" I waved her off
"By the way what is it with you and that Domenico guy?" she asked and I frowned at her

"What do you mean?" I asked hoping she was just joking around
"Every time you guys are seen together it looks like he is ready to kill you or the other way around" she said
"Maybe he does want to kill me who knows because he sure as hell gets under my skin" I replied
"Oh no Dev, sometimes he looks like he could devour you any moment even when you're not looking he checks you out" she wiggled her eyebrows
"Stop imagining stuff Nessa I am sure he feels exactly the same way I feel about him" I replied honestly but I couldn't tell her the truth about him and his family
"If you say so Dev I know something is up one of these days you will admit it" she replied as I stood up
"Now you get back to work I have a few phone calls to make" I said walking back into my cabin and sat at my table

After making phone calls and setting up meetings with the ladies I phoned Mrs Flurry, on the second ring she picked up

"Devon so nice for you to call back" her voice said over the phone and I smiled over the phone
"How was the honeymoon?" I asked and she laughed
"Oh it was amazing the Bahamas is something to experience he really out did himself so glad I married a guy like Carter" she replied yeah a man with a lot of money I thought
"You wanted me to phone you?" I asked her and she was quiet for a moment
"Oh yes sorry I was just thinking why I needed you to call me, the venue that was booked for our wedding can is it possible to hire it again?" she asked me
"Yes why?" I asked unsure
"You see my friend is pregnant and I would like to hire it for the baby shower you don't by any chance to showers also?" she asked me
"Oh God no only weddings but congratulations" I laughed into the phone as she also laughed
"Sorry I just thought with the success of the wedding that maybe you could have done the shower as well?" she asked me and I shook my head remembering I was speaking over the phone so she couldn't see me
"Showers isn't my strong point but I can give you a lady's number who does this sort of thing I trust her and she is very good at what she does" I replied searching for my card holder
"Thank you I knew I have spoken to the right person" came her reply and I gave her the number for Miranda who was very close to me. After a few more chats we ended the call and I decided I had to phone Lila also to find out a few stuff

After the first ring she picked up

"Hey Lila its Devon-"
"God Devon I am so glad you are still alive, I wanted to phone you but was so busy with everything from the agency and thought maybe my brother did something-"
"Lila I am fine" I laughed at her response
"The reason why I am phoning you is to find out about the dinner Friday night, your mother invited me and I just wanted to know what to wear?" I asked her and she giggled

"I am so glad she invited you, she must really like you with the whole fiasco of my brother I told her and she couldn't stop asking questions I am really sorry about that" she replied

"Don't worry about it, your mother is really nice looking forward to the dinner" I replied and she hummed into the phone
"The dinner will be close friends and family and will be very formal, I am going to wear a long pink evening gown" she replied and I could only imagine what she was going to look like
"I bet you will look beautiful" I replied and she snorted
"Oh no that is where you will come in" she replied quick and I looked at the phone
"I will make sure my brother is going to swoon over you" she replied and I laughed hard
"Dear sweet Lord have mercy Lila, me and your brother is a huge no, no, even your mother thought that there is something between us" I said to her and it was strange how easily I could speak to her even though I didn't even know her that well and it was her turn to laugh

"Devon my brother has never even let a woman know about the whole business theory, and the way he is with you is something very pleasing to see, maybe you could warm up a bit" she replied and I almost choked
"Lila that will not happen" I gave a quick response but she really didn't have any of it
"We will see Devon, we will see anyway I have to run now but I will see you Friday night" she told me and I smiled at the phone
"I will see you" I replied not before we hung up I heard her say:

"Knock him off his feet" and the line went dead

Why on earth does everyone think Sebastian and Iwould be a couple, I mean I really couldn't stand the guy let alone think of us as a couple
