Dangers of drug abuse
Hello friends!
I am Aswathi. I am a to be degree student and a new tale teller. Today I want to discuss with you
all about the "Dangers of drug abuse". I'll share it with you all as a story.

Aby is a 16 year old boy who was excellent in studies. He was the favorite of his teachers not
only because of his excellence in studies but also for his good character. But one incident
changed his life.
One day, when he was going to check his friends he saw them behind toilet with some packets
having white powder. He understood that it is none other than Cocaine. Yes, Cocaine the
dangerous drug. He went to them and warned them not to use it again otherwise he'll report it.
His friends said him to try it once but he didn't came to their talks so they said that they won't
use it again.
Days passed, His father always beats his mother and this
made him depressed. But he managed to top his studies in between depressed state. Seeing
him depressed, his friends offered him drugs saying it'll soothe his pain. At first he rejected their
offer but he reluctantly accepted it finally. This incident changed his life.
Slowly slowly he became an addict to drugs. He lost interest in studies and other things. At first
he got drugs for free but after some days he had to pay for drugs.
As he is from a poor family,
neither he could afford it nor he could live without drugs. So the people those sell drugs made
him a carrier of drugs. Thus he became a drug carrier from an excellent student.
The use of drugs changed his character. The same boy who used to be calm became a violent
and angry person. Sometimes he rose his voice on his teachers when they question about his
behavior.
One day a teacher slapped him for his ruthless behavior and he slapped her. Everyone
were hell shocked because of his changed behavior. Not only in studies, he lost interest in food
too.
He always stays in his room and his mom was afraid because of his sudden change.
One day, when he didn't got enough money to buy drugs, he snatched his mother's chain. When
she refused, he hits her head with a steel rod. When the mother is lying in the pool of blood, the
son went with the chain to buy drugs. Next day, he got the most shocking news that his mother
is no more. This guilt of being his own mother's murderer made him more depressed and he attempted suicide.
From the above story, we came across how Aby turned to a maniac addicted to drugs from an excellent and good person.
When we are depressed, we should talk with someone who can lessen our stress and uplift our
mood. Depression is a main reason for children being addicted to drugs. If Aby shared his pain
with any of his teachers or good friends, they could help him in solving his problem and save
him from being a drug addict. But he chose the wrong way.
Such situations will occur in our life, we have to tackle it wisely. If we chose wrong way to
overcome or escape from the situation, we will end up finding solace in drugs.
Modern youngsters are highly prone to drug abuse. To make things worse, they have a
tendency to reject the guidance of elders.
People believe in drugs because they think that any
disease can be relieved by taking drugs. When people become overdependent on drugs to
solve their problems, they lose the capacity to deal with life's situations through perseverance,
self-discipline and mental effort.
The concerted efforts by the parents, teachers and government can help in building up a new,
drug free generation. But the main step should be taken by us to end this drugs. We shouldn't
fall for any temptation by drugs. We should say NO to drugs and if we find our friends using
such drugs we should inform it to our teachers or parents. We should give them moral and
mental support.
Thus we can save them from the cruel hands of drugs.
