"Apparently they've finished their preparations... we can leave anytime," Kyoko said.

The three of them were at the port, the ship in front of them.

"Then, I guess we should get going," Makoto said.

"Hey, Naegi, is this really okay?" Byakuya asked. "You're the one who said, 'Leave the questions to me', so I let you take the lead... Are they really going to be okay? Didn't they just turn back into Super High School-Level Despair?"

"I don't think... that's the case. I mean, if they did turn back, they wouldn't have said they'd stay on the island."

"Perhaps they're thinking about helping their sleeping friends?" Kyoko suggested.

"That might be so. Earlier, one of them found some records of the information surrounding the Neo World Program. Apparently, it was compiled by the Super High School-Level Therapist, Neurologist and Biologist in the past, so there might be a chance.

"Whether they know it or not, the fact that they're already clinging to that feeling shows that they're no longer who they were in the past."

"It seems there are too many soft-hearted people here," Byakuya scoffed.

"But in reality... the possibility of those who are asleep waking up is close to zero."

"No, I don't think the possibility is a problem," Makoto said. "Even if there's a small possibility, they're trying to create their own futures. Plus, they have someone who helped create the program in the past and him on the island. That's why I'm willing to believe in them."

"The smallest possibility," Byakuya said. "You might as well call it a miracle, even with those two on hand."

"Strangely enough... I have a feeling they'll be able to reach it. They've accepted their hopes and their despair while trying to create their own future. Maybe for them, miracles are inevitable, right?"

"Hmph, you're still cheesy as ever," Byakuya scoffed. "Seriously... you haven't grown up at all..."

"H-Haven't grown up...?!" Makoto was taken aback.

"That's the main reason... we decided to come with you," Kyoko said.

"Well, who cares?" Byakuya said. "I guess I'll respect your decision this time."

"Hm... if the higher-ups at the HQ find out about this, it will definitely cause a scene."

"We need to work on concealing it," Makoto said.

"And what do you intend on explaining to HQ?" Kyoko asked.

"U-Um... about that... I was gonna think about it while I was on the ship."

"...Good luck. I'm not going to help you that much."

"Huh? Wh-Why?!"

"You should be at least glad we've respected your decision," Byakuya said.

"F-Fine..."

"Then let's go back as well," Kyoko said. "We're not even close to finishing yet... there's still a lot we must do. We must end this once and for all, for the sake of the future."

"It seems... I must fight alongside you all for a little while longer," Byakuya said.

"Plus, there's someone waiting for your return."

"...Don't make me remember something so horrifying."

"Then... let's go," Makoto said with a determined smile on his face. "We must create our own futures."

"Hey Hinata-kun," Katsumi said.

"Hm? What is it?" he asked.

"Nothing much, but you seemed to be sitting around, so I thought I might as well talk to you."

She sat down next to him, looking at the ship getting smaller in the distance.

"I've remembered so much from waking up, it's hard to take in everything," she said. "And... wow..." Her tone suddenly changed. "You really did look weird, waking up, looking like that."

"H-Hey! You... looked kind of weird... too."

"I don't know about that... especially compared to you." She gave an exasperated sigh. "...That hair of yours... And then you still ended up cutting it..."

"Wh-Why do you sound sad...?!"

"Haha..." she gave a small laugh. "Just kidding. You look better with short hair anyway."

"...Ah, okay."

They both stared out at the waves.

"Anyways... our lives now really do seem almost just as absurd as when we were in the program," Hajime spoke up.

A future you can't predict.

"...But that won't stop us from continuing forward, will it?"

"Of course it won't."

And I'll recover everyone, even if it's the last thing I do.

A few seconds of silence passed.

"So... is 'Hinata-kun' okay for you? Even after all this time, I'm still not sure."

"Yeah... we're fine with that," he answered. "Besides, I've always had that name from the very beginning and I'm more used to it anyway... so you might as well continue using it."

"Hm... got it..." Katsumi turned to face him, a smile forming on her face. "Well then, I look forward to continue working with you..."

She extended her arm, both of them shaking hands.

...

"...Hinata-kun."
