Sapnap POV
"Woof" "Woof"
I heard the gentle barks and grunts from wolves or maybe dogs around me as I lay embedded in the soft grass in the tepid warmth of the weather. My eyes still closed, I made the most of this peaceful dream that my body was engulfed in during my much needed slumber. A gentle breeze made it's way through my long black locks as I felt a leaf land on my face startling me a little.
"This is a very realistic dream" I heard myself say out loud as my fingers played with the long blades of grass, intertwining them between my fingers. "This feels too realistic..." I heard myself say again until I slowly began to open my eyes. A sudden wave of shock hit me as I sat myself up leaning back on the palm of my hands for support as I looked round: silvery birch trees surrounded me in amongst grass standing a foot tall from the ground and two wolves play fighting each other a few metres in front of me... birch trees, blocks of wood, wolves "I'M IN MINECRAFT!" I shrieked at the top of my lungs, causing the wolves to run away from me in fear.
Fear and panic began to set in until my early onset breakdown was swiftly interrupted by a voice. A voice that sounded like it was above me, or behind me or no where for that matter as I rapidly surveyed my surroundings once more, but now for the origin of this voice...
"Good morning player Sapnap!"
"Sapnap? That's the name I play under when I used to play Minecraft with my friends..." I said quietly to myself.
"This is no need to panic Sapnap, you are the fifth and final player to have spawned in this Minecraft world... You have spawned in a birch forest."
Fifth and final player? I thought to myself. That must mean that I'm not on my own, there's other people out there!
"Sapnap you are the master builder of this group of players. This means that you are responsible for building and quick thinking in critical situations. Be warned, if you take damage in game this will reflect real life pain, damage and healing time. In addition, if you die here, it's game over... literally! In game and real life"
"Player Sapanp, because you are the master builder of this team, you have been equipped with a phone. This phone will allow you to plan blueprints for builds and then place down these blueprints into game. Also, you will be shown what best combinations of blocks to use for builds are and you have extreme quick and logistical thinking - this allows you to problem solve to get you and others out of trouble and set up traps, redstone contraptions and more in high pressure situations. Use this to the best of your ability!"
"Happy gaming and good luck Sapnap"
And just like that, the voice disappeared and I was left with nothing but the gentle sway of the wind to fill my silence.
From the years of experience you'd had playing Minecraft with your friends, your first instinct was to collect some wood...
----------TIME SKIP----------
You had carried out all of the basic processes in the early stages of Minecraft to ensure your protection and survival: basic stone tools, food and some blocks.
Excitement got the best of me and I began to avidly chop birch trees in early preparations for a house. However, there wasn't enough room to build a house here what with all of the trees and all. Furthermore, finding the other players before building a house was a logistical decision.
After felling a few more birch trees to make up a 64 of birch wood logs, I set off in no particular direction but following the now afternoon sun in search of any other players.

The evening sun began to sink lower and lower into the horizon as nighttime crept ever closer. Nighttime meant only one thing... hostile mobs. I quickly made myself a makeshift house in the side of a small cliff face to wait out night until morning. With no armour, I would've been writing my own death note if I had tried to carry on adventuring or fighting with those mobs around.
Like the voice said, damage in Minecraft will have real life consequences and death is quite literally endgame!
I waited out the night snuggled up next to a flaming torch for both light and warmth. I carved out a small window in the side of the cliff face to look out for sunrise. I tried to stay as alert as possible but the comfort I gained from the torch's warmth and my recent meal of roasted chicken made me drowsy. Fighting the urge to sleep, I tried to splash my face with cold water I'd collected from the river in a vile - I'd crafted from some glass I'd smelted. But to no avail, my eyes won the inevitable battle and I drifted off into a peaceful and weary sleep.

DAY 2...
I awoke, my whole body ached from sleeping upright against a wall on a ground of uneven and unforgiving stone. I collected all of my belongings and left my temporary home back on my journey once more.
I felt peckish from no breakfast but decided it was most sensible to ration my food as I only had 2 pieces of cooked chicken left and I didn't want to waste it unnecessarily.
I continued my adventure from birch forests to taiga forests to eventually a plains biome. The constant changes in the climate was the most challenging aspect of this journey so far. Travelling from a temperate birch forest with a slight but comfortable chill from an occasional gust of wind... to a taiga biome with tiny crystallised flakes of snow hitting my nose and eyelashes. Snow gently powdering the ground beneath my feet as I clung tightly onto a flaming torch, taking it in turns to hover each hand over the flame as to gain some warmth and fight back the threatening frostbite. Until now, a plains biome. Warm, a gentle breeze, summer like.
I had spent another day wandering aimlessly in search of players but to no avail. Until dusk made its appearance once again. With spending a day gaining experience in this Minecraft world I felt a spike of confidence to carry on adventuring through the night. As the sun disappeared, the moon rose in this night sky.
Mobs began to spawn all around me: zombies, skeletons and creepers... My pace began to quicken as some of these mobs neared me, uninterested but still too close to my liking. I was now speed walking almost at a gentle jog when a group of 3 skeletons spawned in front of me. Adrenaline kicked in as I equipped my sword and run towards them.
~~~~TW: Mentions of mob death, potential gore, blood~~~~
As I flung myself forward, my stone sword swiped one of the skeleton's heads clean off of it's shoulders, provoking it to fall swiftly to the ground. Proud, I pounced on the other, my sword getting intertwined between its ribcage. As I panicked and tried to release my sword from it's entanglement, I noticed out of the corner of my eye the third skeleton turning to face me and readying its bow and arrow...
Before I could react, one of its arrows had pierced into my shoulder. A searing pain swept through my body as adrenaline tried to counteract this. I decided to abandon this fight and run as fast as my weak legs could take me. I dove into a small cave, blocked off the entrance and lit the area with a torch. Instead of pulling the arrow out, I tore the sleeve off of my undershirt and tied it around my shoulder holding the arrowhead in place (still impaled in my shoulder). The excruciating pain made me delirious and light-headed but I fought to maintain my consciousness.
Until, lights out...
