Chapter 7 - Expedition

Y/N POV

We all quickly huddled around Sapnap as he lay unconscious on the grass, blood seeping out from his wound. I remembered the abilities I'd been given with the yellow eye contact lenses I wore on my eyes, I swiftly double blinked and mumbled "Health and hunger" under my breath. A screen to the left of my vision popped up showing that Sapnap was on 3.5 health and 7 hunger bars. 

Dream and Technoblade helped carry Sapnap back up the tree (to much difficulty) to ensure that he keeps warm and is safe when he wakes up.

An hour later and Sapnap finally woke up, the bleeding had subsided but I presume his pain still had not. I gave him a piece of cooked steak to eat, which instantly made him feel better.

"Okay, I'll reiterate our list of jobs for today's mining expedition considering we have our 5th player now! I'll stay with Dream and Technoblade, Dream you're on collecting iron and copper. Techno, since you're the gatherer you'll have a better chance of collecting precious ores such as emeralds and diamonds. I'll find oddities such as gold, redstone and lapis."

"George, you stay with Sapnap and you both need to focus on finding as much coal and iron as they are our most needed resources, to smelt and make tools and armour." 

Everyone agreed with my list of jobs and with that we set off with a sufficient amount of food and sharpened tools and weaponry. 

----------TIME SKIP----------

We breached the entry to the cave and went our designated ways together. I was walking slightly in front and in the middle of both Dream and Techno. Despite only meeting a day or two ago, we cared for each other's safety and did everything to ensure that. As we made our way: walking, climbing and clambering deeper in the cave systems, Techno's crown lit up the darkened areas around us and lighting up the exposed ores showing their beautiful iridescent colours. I focused on the gold and redstone whilst the others separated a little to mine their respective ores. 

As we made our way further down deeper into the earth, the temperature was climbing as we neared levels that lava would appear on. I took off my leather jacket and tied it tightly around the small of my waist to help me cool down a little, whilst Techno and Dream still stayed fully kitted out in their layers of clothing. They're crazy if you ask me... 

After a few hours of mining what we could and fighting off the odd zombie or skeleton we decided to take a small break and collate our findings. Dream had collected 56 iron. Technoblade collected 7 diamonds and no emeralds and I collected 17 gold, 64 redstone and 11 lapis lazuli. "Not a bad haul so far guys, a few more hours I think and that'll wrap it up!" I exclaimed excitedly.

"Techno, Y/N I suggest we go a little deeper into the cave - that'll be where more of the precious ores will be. What'd you think?" Dream suggested. Techno just nodded his head. "Sounds like a plan to me." I said with a smile.

We continued on for a little further down into the cave system when we came across a small gathering of mobs. I equipped my sword, Techno grabbed his axe and Dream drew his sword from where it was resting on his back. As soon as the mobs gave us attention, I flew forward and pounced on a zombie killing it in two critical blows. Techno killed a skeleton and Dream killed a zombie and a creeper. "Ah that wasn't so hard guys" I exclaimed...

Dream POV

Techno and I were just stood surveying our backs, turned away and not facing Y/N. It was only until Y/N happily said "Ah that wasn't so hard guys" in her usual positive tone, that we turned back to face her once behind us was safe and mob-free. But then as we turned back around to see Y/N stood there, posture straight, wide grin on her face that we saw a creeper walking up behind her. A short hissss "Y/N run towards us now!" I shrieked as Techno was already sprinting towards her. It was too late, the creeper exploded and blasted Techno against a wall and me backwards. A short hissss and then a scream, terror-filled scream. The aftermath left my ears ringing and vision blurry as I scrambled back up to my feet, I see Techno already on his feet but no Y/N...
