Chapter 22 - Mob Fight

Dream POV

After Y/N and my trip to the river, we made our way back home with a bag full of salmon and cod. It felt weird that I'd shown her my face, I wasn't really thinking straight when I showed her, I kind of just felt fed up of having to hide all the time. 

We walked back home in a comfortable silence, the evening was beginning to set in painting the sky an incandescent pink. 

We managed to get home just before it got dark enough, where mobs would spawn in their masses. As Y/N and I walked through the front door, Sapnap jumped up from his seat at the kitchen table "Where on earth have you two been all day, last time we all saw you was last night and then this morning the both of you vanished!" he blurted, startling George (who was quietly reading a book opposite Sapnap). 

"Sorry Sap, Y/N and I were both just up early and we were getting low on food so we decided to go take a walk down by the river" I chuckled as Sapnap stayed remained in his concerned looking posture. 

"Anyways, we have fresh fish so that's dinner sorted" Y/N broke the awkward silence by grabbing the basket full of fish and walking over to the kitchen, where she placed the basket on the countertop. "Salmon or cod?" She asked the group as she held one of each fish in each hand. 

"Salmon" Sapnap, Techno and I said simultaneously...

"Cod" George shouted.

"Sorry George, looks like salmon takes the win tonight" Y/N giggled at George's disappointment.

Y/N POV

After we'd all eaten our dinner, Techno stacked up all of our plates as he offered to wash the dishes tonight. As he walked over to the kitchen and began to wash up, I spent a little time talking with Dream, Sapnap and George "So Y/N, how are you feeling?" George asked curiously.

"I don't feel too bad George, I think the fresh air helped me today; although I do still feel a little bit weak but not enough to prevent me from doing anything" I replied to George as I rested my head in my hands on the kitchen table, tired from the long day out. "So does anyone have any plans for this evening? I'm bored" Sapnap sighed as he slouched down in his chair, crossing his arms and pulling a pouty face. George and I both secretly giggled at Sapnap, until there was a strange pounding noise at the front door... "I'll get it" I said nonchalantly.

As I opened the door, a zombie fell at my feet. Startled, I jumped back and shrieked "Someone get a sword and call for Dream NOW" This provoked George, Sapnap and Techno to jump into action - Sapnap sprinting up the stairs to find Dream, who had left a little bit ago. Techno threw me a sword, which was perfect timing as the zombie has begun to get to its feet.

After I'd killed the zombie I relaxed a little until I looked beyond our garden, to which the surrounding area was swamped with zombies slowly making their way to our house "Guys, there's a lot of zombies out here, get ready to fight!" I shouted to everyone as they frantically scrambled around the house grabbing gear "Guess we do have plans for this evening then" Sapnap giggled as he ran back down the stairs armoured up and sword in hand, with Dream swiftly following behind him. 

"Techno we need to go and get a head start at killing these zombies before they overwhelm us." I explained, meanwhile Dream shouted over to us "You guys go, we'll follow behind you. Stay safe."

With that Techno and I sprinted out the front door and towards the hoard of zombies. "Y/N drink this, it's a night vision potion George brewed for us" Techno explained as we continued towards the zombies "Thanks" I replied after a large gulp of the strange potion. I'd never drunk a potion before and it was a strange sensation... the mix of a sweet taste and tingling of small bubbles on my tongue, which quickly changed to an almost pleasant burning feeling meanwhile my vision became slightly swirly and blurry, until it hit me... My vision quickly switched from dark to light, I went from barely being able to make out the zombie figures in the darkness to having the ability to make out every shape, colour and detail in sight. This feeling was almost. Addictive...!

---------- TIME SKIP ----------

After 10-15 minutes of continuously fighting the zombies without much of a chance to take a breather, I panted through words as I rested my hands on my thighs "When are the others gonna get out here, we're managing but we'll tire before long." 

"Keep pushing through it Y/N, we need to manage the hoards before they reach our house. They'll be out soon, trust me." Techno calmly spoke with a small smile pricking at the corner of his mouth as he gently placed a warm hand on my shoulder. "I hope you're right Techno" "Oh come on Y/N, when am I ever wrong?" Techno giggled as I playfully rolled my eyes at him.

Not too soon after; Dream, George and Sapnap ran out of the front door and headed our way joining us in the fight. "Hey guys, sorry we took so long." Dream shouted, as Sapnap interrupted "Yeah George decided he wanted to brew some potions." 

"I brewed health potions, they'll kill two birds with one stone" George exclaimed, "how so George?" I replied. "Well they're splash potions of health, so if we splash them towards zombies, it'll deal them damage and us health!" 

"Hmm smart idea George" Techno sounded surprised George had thought to do that, albeit bad timing to brew potions whilst a fight was going down.

George POV

We'd all been fighting for around 15 minutes, continuously for 15 minutes. I'm not sure about anyone else but I was beginning to tire. Looking around, Y/N was fighting alongside Sapnap. They may not be the closest out of our group but they sure have good chemistry when they fight, without speaking they manage to kill everything around them. Fighting back to back, dancing around each other, Y/N ducks under Sapnap's arm as he swings his sword into a zombie, whilst she rams her sword into a zombie's side killing it instantly. 

On the other hand, Dream and Techno fight seamlessly together. They don't always fight together but they fight close to each other. They seem to have this knack to keep the hoards of zombies off each other whilst still fighting their own zombies. 

I spent so long preoccupied watching as my friend's fight that I totally forgot about killing the zombies too!

Dream POV

It took a while but we'd finally killed all the zombies. Us five came to a halt and stood in a sort of circle just huffing and puffing and coming back to reality. It takes a lot of strength and stamina to continuously fight like we'd all been doing, but we all survived it surprisingly with little damage too. I noticed that Sapnap had a cut on his leg and Y/N had a slash on her face but other than that we all escaped unharmed. 

We all returned to our house and crashed around the kitchen table. What an eventful night!

I'm sort of back, I'm currently taking exams at my university but I will return in roughly 4 weeks!

I had a quiet day so thought I'd update with a new chapter, sorry it wasn't too much of an eventful one :)
