[Denki Kaminari x Reader] Electric Feel

not a songfic but like. istg anytime there's a song where they so much as Mention electricity, i'm like 👀denki that you?

"Today we're doing sparring matches," began Mr. Aizawa, "Everyone will be doing at least one round; your matchups today have been determined by your quirk weaknesses, meaning you'll be pitted against someone who has an advantage over you."

"Can't help but wonder who you'll be with, Mina," you asked your friend while Aizawa started listing off pairings, "Your quirk doesn't really have any inherent weaknesses."

"That's true," spoke Momo from your other side, "But I have a pretty good guess of whom you'll be paired with, (y/n)."

You nodded, looking at the two boys a few feet away from you, "Yeah, me too."

"You may begin."

Instantly, the half and half boy before you launched a barrage of ice attacks towards you. Yet, you didn't flinch, calmly allowing the attacks to pass through your now liquid body.

"Sorry Todoroki," you smirked, "But I don't think this is going to end very well for you."

Y/N L/N, quirk: water!

She's got complete control over the element of water, and she can even turn her body into water! So hip!

Todoroki hardened his gaze and moved to attack again, "My ice may pass through you, but the heat will still burn."

Flames burst from his left side, streaming towards you, but with a few simple gestures from you, all of the ice on the field melted and completely doused his flames.

"Wow (n/n)!" gushed Mina as you stepped off the field, time having run out, ending the match in a draw, "You can hold your own against one of the top students in our class!"

You let out a breathy laugh, "Yeah well, just wait 'till my next match up; this was the easy one."

"Easy? Oh that's right, Kaminari's your weak match," mentioned Momo.

"Yeah and I'm royally screwed!" you huffed, "I still haven't thought of way to beat him."

"Don't worry, (y/n)," cheered Mina, "You're like, the strongest girl in our class! Plus you're smart- you'll come up with something! We all know Kami isn't that  bright."

"Mina! Don't be mean!" you whined, causing the pink girl to put her hands up in surrender, "Hey! I'm in the same boat as him, I'm allowed to say that (n/n)!"

"Begin," sighed Aizawa, already exhausted by his students. He just hoped another one wouldn't be sent to Recovery Girl or the old lady might have his head.

"Sorry, (n/n)," called Kaminari, "But I'm not gonna hold back just 'cause you're cute!"

Normally, you'd roll your eyes at his remarks, but in this moment, it suddenly gave you an idea. As the blond geared up for his attack, you posed cutely and started twirling your hair, "You really think I'm that cute~"

The electric boy was surprised by your sudden behaviour, stopping in his tracks. Of course, he had flirted with you a dozen times before; you were a cutie and he's not one to miss an opportunity. But, you'd never flirted back before!

Meanwhile, in the stands, Momo looked quite puzzled at her friend's unexpected actions, "What is she doing?"

Like a lightbulb went off, Mina brightened, "Wow! (N/n) really is a genius!"

"How so? ribbit," questioned Tsu. Mina grinned, "It's sooo obvious that Kaminari's into her, so she's using it to her advantage. She's flustering him so she can catch him off guard!"

"Isn't that a little harsh? ribbit," continued Tsu. Mina looked at the green haired girl, confused for a moment, before figuring out what Tsu meant.

"Ohhh, no, you totally got the wrong idea Tsu!" explained Mina, "I'm pretty sure (Y/n) likes him too, she's just a little shy about those kinds of things~ Poor baby probably doesn't even realize her own feelings."

Back on the field, you slowly started inching your way towards the blond, cheeks flushed. I can't believe I'm doing this!! 

"You know, I think you're pretty cute too, Denki~" you purred. Kaminari was about to explode; he couldn't believe what he was hearing! In that moment, you quickly materialized a long whip of water on your arm, using it to throw him out of bounds.

Blink. Blink. "What just happened?" asked Kaminari. 

"Sorry!!!!" you called as you came running up to the blond boy.

"No way!" he shouted, "Aw man, you tricked me (n/n)!! That's just cold..."

"Sorry!!" you apologized once more. You unknowingly pouted as you looked up at him, hoping he would't be mad at you.

He chuckled and rubbed his neck awkwardly, "Geez, can't stay mad at you if you look at me like that, cutie."

Upon hearing the statement, your eyes sparkled and, without thinking, you gave the boy a tight hug. 

"Kaminari I-" 

"That's enough, you two. Clear out so the next match can start," scolded Aizawa. Coming back to reality, you immediately pulled away from the boy, your cheeks flushing a whole new shade of red, "Sorry sir!"

After scurrying back to the stands, you couldn't help but titter giddily with Mina. 

"Don't look now, but look now!" giggled Mina as she pointed behind you. You whipped around and your eyes instantly matched with Kaminari's golden ones. You waved warily at the boy, a small smile on your lips, only to be met with a wide grin and enthusiastic wave. Despite never even touching his electricity, you couldn't help but feel tingly all over.

Maybe... I do like him after all...

Bonus - A couple years later

You were showering, peacefully enjoying the feeling of the water softly hitting your skin, until you heard the bathroom door creak open. Without even needing to look, you already knew whom it was.

"Denki, if you take another step, I will end you."

"Aww, c'mon (n/n)!" whined the blond, "I'm your boyfriend!"

You poked your head out from behind the curtain,  meeting your boyfriend's pout, "Yes, I know, and I love you babe, but I'm really not in the mood to get shock treatment today."

"I'll be careful," he begged, giving you his best pouty eyes. He almost got you, until you remembered something.

"Uh huh, you said that last time," you cringed at the memory, "And then you sneezed."

With a groan, Denki defeatedly sulked out of the room. You couldn't help but laugh at his antics, "I'll be out in a minute!"

also im aware this ending bonus has absolutely nothing to do with the rest of the story, but i thought of it and i thought it was really cute but there's no way i can make a whole story abt it so i threw it in here
