The gentle knocking at your bedroom door had awoken you from your slumber. Your eyes drearily opened as you stretched your body across your bed.

"Yes?" you spoke, still half asleep.

"Your highness, your father wants you in the throne room immediately. He said it's urgent." The high pitched voice of your most favoured servant spoke from the opposite side of the large dark oak door.

"Alright, would you please let him know I'll be there once I'm ready if you get the chance that is, thank you Adelia" you replied getting up from your bed to dress. You decided to wear your white shirt and dark grey trousers with leather boots once again but adding golden silk across your stomach hiding your belt. You rushed and placed your hair into a tidy low bun before clipping your scabbard to your belt.

You slipped out of your room and began the trek to the throne room. There was a slight spring in your step as you sped walked past all the guards and servants through the hallways. Last time your father had sent you to attend an urgent meeting he was allowing you to take your own group of soldiers on a mission. That mission may have been just a small search through a cave that was once hidden by the lava that had reported wither skeletons living inside of them but it felt like an accomplishment nonetheless.

You had spent what felt like a lifetime persuading your father to allow you to drop your responsibilities as a princess and join the soldiers. After showing him the skills you had, he finally agreed and allowed you but only starting as an archer but you soon rose through the ranks until you now controlled the army as general and lord.

You marched to the side entrance of the throne room as to not make your entrance grand. Slowly, you opened the door and entered the large room. Your father, the king, was perched on his throne in front of you. He had once been a strong man that killed his way through the first army of Withers and took his rightful place as king. However, the years had not been kind to him. He now had the look of a weary old man about him - slumped shoulders and a patchy beard.

You stooped into a bow. "Apologies father, I did not intend to take so long"

"No matter," your father said, gesturing for you to take a seat beside him. "We're still waiting for the a few more of the nobles, I have important announcements that I have only been notified of this morning"

You slid into the seat to his left. He had a look of worry and what almost seemed like fear on his face. But you knew better, your father hadn't seen fear for years.

The room around you was unnecessarily large with quartz pillars lining it. A grand red carpet with gold trimmings lined the ground from the entrance to the steps just before the thrones.

You and your father sat for roughly one hour waiting for the rest of the nobilities to arrive. They would each arrive separately, taking their seat at the long table that had been placed on the red carpet. The table was only ever there if small meetings were to be held between the king and his closes closest nobility however this time the table seemed larger with a few dozen more seats.

Something was wrong, you could sense it when you walked into the room but threw those feelings away. Something was different about your father's demeanour - his outgoing, joyous self seemed drained.

You gently leaned towards him and whispered "father, is everything alright? You don't seem well"

"I am quite alright, I just learnt some news this morning that changes a few things around the kingdom. You'll understand in a minute. The meeting is about to go underway" he replied, matching your tone, ending with a small smile.

He nodded to you as he slowly rose from his seat, waiting for the guests to silence. Within seconds, the room was hushed. Not a single word was spoken.

Suddenly, your father cleared his throat and began to speak. His voice was loud and clear and clearly formal. You carefully listened to the words he spoke.

"I'm sure you are all aware of our allies and good friends the Pigmen and Piglins" he began "recently the two have had ongoing quarrels with the well known Wither Skeletons. A little over a month ago the Pigmen declared war on the skeletons. However the Piglins and Pigmen were both extremely unprepared for this war, therefore, this morning I received the news that our dear allies would like our assistance. In conclusion, I have come to the decision that we will join forces with the Pigmen and Piglins and create an army that is stronger than ever."

A range of whispers immediately fell across the room. Panic has spread onto the faces of each of the nobility. Meanwhile, you sat in your seat not knowing which of your emotions to handle first. You had sworn that there were no wars or conflicts going on in the area. But nonetheless, you had to believe it. With the way your father was acting, there had to be something going on.

"Your highness, if I may?" A voice spoke from the far right of the table. Your father gestured for them to carry on. "What are the benefits of us going to war?"

Your father paused for a moment before speaking again. "We will gain an even closer bond with our pig brotherin causing an increase of gold trades and sales coming to our kingdom.

"Who will be leading this army," another voice asked.

To this question, your father's posture changed. He had straightened his back and stood proud and tall. "Our side of the army will be led by none other than my daughter herself, y/n" he answered with a proud smile.

You nodded and gently smiled towards the nobility, ready for what was about to come.

"But she is a woman"

"She is inexperienced"

"She can not lead an army, she could barely arrive to this meeting on time"

"She threw away her responsibilities as the princess, what makes you believe she won't do the same as general"

You knew this was going to happen. You had been dealing with it ever since they allowed you to join the army. The majority of the kingdom accepted this after a while as they finally understood the power you held. However, others were more resilient to this change.

You slowly stood yourself up, resting one hand on your belt, the other hanging limply beside you. You cleared your throat trying to alert the room you were going to speak yet no one silenced. You tried again but to no avail.

Eventually, you became sick of this so you pulled your gold-encrusted sword out of the sheath and prepared to throw it. Everybody was so busy yelling at your father that nobody noticed you. You made sure your aim was perfect one last time before you took the shot.

Just as you predicted, the sword landed perfectly in the centre of the table sending a vigorous vibration down it causing everyone to go silent.

"Now that I finally have your attention" you began "you should all be aware that during this war, I will not be working alone. My plan is to work with the generals and lords of the Pigmen and Piglin army. I would also like you to make you all aware of the fact that I worked my way up the ranks. I started as nothing but a small archer but I worked my way up to a general. I did not get promoted because I'm 'father's little princess' I got promoted because I'm a damn good warrior."

The room around you stood silent. The nobility had looks of shame and embarrassment on their faces. As a final move, you walked to your sword and pulled it out of the table without much effort. As you put it back into its scabbard you said one last line before storming out the room.

"Also, I may be a woman, but I'm sure I fight better than all of you."
