Jaydee's POV

At the studio

"Hey. I'm here.

These guys are?" I said when I entered the studio and I saw it occupied.

"Knife Skillz, With a Z." Maddie said looking pissed.

"Right.

Okay, Mikey, sounds amazing.
Let's just go for it." I said after I pressed the intercomm.

"I am going for it.

The bass line is one note." The boy said. I just sighed.

"Just one note." I repeat making him know it was clear.

"Okay, cool."

"Take two." Maddie said to them as they start playing a whole set.

"You look different." She said to me after she stare at what I'm wearing.

"Yeah. Going for a Kanye kind of thing.

I'm gonna say more Michael Bublé,
but, whatever, it's still good." She said and look away.

"So... I'm gonna be in and out for a while." I thrilled.

"Sounds really good, Mikey.

Let's just take it from the top
or the middle or wherever." She said to keep the band playing.

"You know what?
People come here to work with you, okay?

I mean, I'm doing my best,
but you gotta be here." She said as a mtter of fact. I know that but I also know I need my wife to be here so I'm gonna make sure to bring here back here.

"I know.

But if Frances is in Lake Forest with her family, that's where I gotta be.

I gotta make my wife
fall in love with me again." I said before leaving the room.

At the Lake Forest.

I'm here at Frances'. Joining Dukes engagement party. They all look so expensive.

" The countdown's on, man." Duke said after popping out of no where and handing me a glass of whiskey.

" Hey, man." I greeted him.

"One week left of your former life.
How you feeling?" I asked him to make a conversation.

"I feel pretty good, actually.

I mean, I do get a little dizzy
if I think about it for too long, but..." He said without stopping. I think he's nervous.

"What?" Both Duke and I suddenly turn our head to the person who speak. It was Cresila her fiancée. Oh oh what to do what to do.

"No, honey, it's like a good dizzy. It's like...
It's like panic or excitement." Duke reasoned out stuttering.

"Well, panic and excitement are different." Cresila said looking impatient. Alright I gotta help a brother.

"Honey, there's gonna be 400 people there." Duke whispered.

"Right." Cresila being persistent.

"Hey, do you also have
a little tingling in your fingers?" I butted in.

"Yeah. Is that bad?" Duke said cluelessly.
