Frances' POV

I'm currently attending class for Law school. It is one of my major subjects but I'm here the the back scrumbling drawings any doodles that entered my mind.

"Certain parties have sought
to nullify various congressional acts,

claiming that repeated extensions
of copyright protection

constitute a perpetual copyright

of the sort the drafters
of the Constitution would have rejected.

The United States Supreme Court,
in the 2003 case of Eldred v. Ashcroft..."  My professor discussed as I let my mind drift of until I heard the bell rang.

Fast forward.

" Thanks for lunch." I said as we walk out from the restaurant, it was nothing fancy.

" Actually, there's something
that I wanted to tell you." Kielle said looking nervous but still wearing her best smile.

"Okay." I said and nod encouraging her to continue.

"Things are over with Rose.

I ended it, Frances." She said. Why is she telling me this? Is she sad does  she need comfort?

"No. Why did you do that?

I thought you were getting engaged... " I said with disappointment.

"We were, but that was before you." She reasoned out. It was because of me. Did she think I'm coming back to her?

"No, that was after me." I said clearing up things.

"Okay, it was after you,
but it was before this you.

It was before the old you came back." Kielle said trying to be more persuasive.

"Kielle, I'm not the old me.

I'm just me.

I'm just the me
that's trying to figure it out still." I explained to her.

"I understand, but, whichever it is,
the old you or the new you, I don't care.

I know you remember
what we were like together. I know you do.

This is our chance to get that back." Kielle said still persistent.

"What we had was wonderful.

Those were wonderful memories,
but those were...

Those are my only memories.

Everything after you is erased.

I have to discover what it's like
to be without you, on my own." I said trying to make her understand my decision.

" Are you sure you don't remember
breaking up with me the first time?" Kielle said laughing while wiping her tears.

" Why?" I said while laughing at what she said.

" 'Cause it sounded a hell of a lot like that." She retorted.

"Whatever. Let's go." I said rolling my eyes on her playfully.
