"Well, well, well. Look who actually has to come into work today" Dalton smirked as I pulled into his driveway
I flipped him off and rolled my eyes
"How was your day off?" He asked
"Good, I got my puppyyyy" I smiled
"Did you now?" He asked as I pulled out of his driveway
I nodded eagerly
"Ariana went with me too" I smiled
"She did?" He asked
"She diddd" I sang
"When can I meet the little guy?" He asked
"Anytime you want" I smiled
"Don't drop me off at my house after work today, I wanna meet him today" she said
I nodded
"And don't make any plans with my girlfriend for lunch. Me and you are going" he said
I looked at him with an amused face
"I feel like we haven't had lunch together in a while. So we're going" he said
"Yes sir" I laughed
"Good" he smiled cockily

Turns out, Dalton and I couldn't go to lunch together. We both got pulled into meetings at the exact same time. Not the same meeting though. He's in a conference room down the hall. On the bright side, they said once the meeting is over, we can all go home since there's nothing left to do for the day
As Aaron is talking, I twirl my pen in my between my fingers and listen. I try not to look bored, but I'm really bored. Don't get me wrong, I'm paying attention to what he's saying, but am in genuinely interested? No. Do I care? Yes, it's my job, but this man could at least sound enthusiastic for the sake of all of us
"Try not to look too bored over there" kelly whispered to me with a giggle
I looked up from my pen and saw her subtly laughing at me
"The way he talks is just so meh" I said honestly
That caused her to giggle quietly
"Alright I think that's it, right?" Aaron asked
Everyone looked around, as if they weren't sure if that was really it
"Yea, that's it. You all can go home. Sorry for keeping you late" Aaron apologized
It wasn't even late, we're all going home early
"Y/n, a moment please" Aaron called me
Kelly looked at me and made a yikes face
"Have a good night kels" I smiled at her
"You too Russo" she smiled
After everyone had left the room, I walked over to Aaron
"How is Miss Grande liking her new home?" He asked
I looked shocked
"I've seen you've been spending quite some time with her" he said
"Yea, we're friends" I said honestly
"That's good. She's been putting some good words in for you" he said
"She has?" I asked
He nodded
"I just wanted to tell you to keep up the good work" he smiled
