Y/n POV

"Hey y/n" Kelly smiled at me as I walked into the building

"Hey Kels" I smiled back

"Come here" she whispered as she moved her fingers in a come here motion

I did as told and walked closer to her with a skeptical look

"Why is Dalton back?" She whispered

"You didn't hear?" I asked

She shook her head no

"He apparently cheated on Ariana and flew back to try and work things out" I recapped her briefly

Her jaw dropped to which I nodded knowingly

"Holy shit" she said

"I know" I replied

"Is she doing okay?" She asked me sounding genuinely concerned

"Yea, she's just fine" I gave a reassuring smile

"Oh is she?" She smirked at me

"Not because of me though, it's probably because she's such a strong woman" I shrugged

"Mmhmm, or because you've been... doing her right" Kelly winked

I couldn't help but to throw my head back in a laugh

"Well, while you fantasize about that, I'm going to my office" I said as I began to walk to the elevators

She winked at me one last time as I got in and began to go up to my floor. When the doors opened, I saw the light on in Dalton's office. I shook my head and unlocked mine and closed the door behind me. I then signed into my computer and began reading through all of my emails to see which ones needed a response quickly and which ones could wait

I was working no more than ten minutes when there was a knock at my door

"Come in" I called

The door opened slowly and revealed Dalton

"Hey" he said hesitantly

"Hey" I said not looking away from my computer

"Can we talk?" He asked walking closer

"I suppose" I shrugged while he closed my door behind him

"I'm sorry" he began as he took a seat in front of my desk

"You seem to use that word a lot" I said

"Please just hear me out" he pleaded

I nodded

"I wanted to apologize about the other day. I was out of line and I never should've disrespected you" he began

"Go on" I said

"And I never should've tried to threaten you or gotten you involved because now my relationship has gone to shit" he added

"Your relationship went to shit because you fucked another girl. That was on you" I said

"I know and I feel so disgusted in myself" he said

"Good, you should" I said not sugar coating anything

"But I mainly just wanted to apologize to you because one, I brought bad energy and feelings into you house, and two, I disrespected and I know I was wrong for that. I really am sorry" he said

I hummed in response

"You could pretend to care" he said

"Like you cared for Ariana?" I asked
