The door quickly swung open, crashing into the wall. A sudden noise was produced from that, making (Y/n) jump. During this hour she's normally the only person in her dorm room, and Lauretta's aware of that.
The latter stood in the door frame, her eyes red and slightly puffy as tears streamed down her cheeks. (Y/n) instantly became worried and asked her what happened.
"I know. . ." The brunette wiped her tears with her sleeve. ". . . we haven't really talked lately since you've been with Hermione a lot. And that's fine, I'm glad she's your girlfriend now; but, I really need to vent to you, right now."
(Y/n) made her way over to Lauretta and gave her a hug. They stayed there in silence for some moments as the she softly sobbed, before sitting on the Slytherin Princess' bed. Once Lauretta had somewhat composed herself, she started rambling.
"It's so fucking stupid I'm crying about this! Why am I such a bloody mess, (Y/n)?! You should know, you're smart! If it wasn't for Hermione, you'd be top in our year!"
"Okay, we're drifting away from the original subject. What exactly happened, Laurie?"
"You want to know?!" she exclaimed fiercely, taking out some of her rage. "Fine then! Guess who just saw Harry Potter exchanging saliva with Cho Chang?"
"Wait, back up. You saw Harry and Cho snog—?"
"Yes! Bloody hell, I don't need you to say it out loud," she groaned, letting her back fall onto the bed.
"When did this happen?" asked (Y/n) in a half-kind and half-confused tone.
"Like thirty minutes ago, a few minutes after the Patronus lesson. The worst part is, I actually found the fucking courage to confess to him! I decided maybe after the meeting would be great, since I knew he'd be alone in the ROR. But my stupid arse didn't see that Cho had stayed behind with him. So, I walked in there, all cheerful with a nervous smile on my face. Then I see them . . . y'know. I stood there in shock as my heart broke to fucking pieces — lovely, amirite? — and he saw me just gaping like a fish. I ran out of the door like hell once he said my name. I sobbed like a mess in my dorm room until I was finally composed enough to see you. I'm still acting like a little girl, though, crying over her crush. How stupid."
A huff spilled from Lauretta's lips. The tears' flow had concluded while she was ranting, but they still made her eyes appear glossy. (Y/n) gently patted her shoulder and started replying.
"One, don't use that kind of sexist saying, dear. Second, don't make your feelings invalid. You're allowed to feel all the anger, sadness, and humiliation you're feeling right now. It's natural, you're an emotional person! So, cry and rant to me until you feel better, Lauretta."
