Like Minds

I said to my friend:

Thieves

How intrusive they are

Thieves

of children, of time, of lives, of reputation

Plagiarists

Kidnapers

Adulterers

Murderers

People who steal.

Without a thought

without a doubt

Without a care.

How entitled they feel

To take what belongs to you.

My friend answered:

How long it takes to raise a life!

How long it takes to live a life

day in day out

dreaming, hoping

and all of a sudden

some jackass just shoots you

And your future is changed

And your plans are dashed

And for some your hereafter comes sooner than you ever expected.
