"All data has been deleted. Luckily, I've been keeping an eye on you."

The sense of relief made Aria heave a sigh. Thanks to her friend, the school secret wouldn't be exposed just as Koi planned it.

"We're going to stop Koi's exposé," she remembered she told her friend. They were on their way to the dorm to rest for the day. Even though Claire told her that she shouldn't tell Wave about their plans, she still did. But Aria didn't do it just because she wanted to. She had her reasons. "If things go haywire, can you back us up?"

He didn't give her an answer, so she assumed that was a no. But what just happened can be translated into otherwise.

The door swung open and two familiar and unwanted faces at the moment emerged. It was Mr Pom and Ms Ladda.

All their heads turned to the two teachers, surprised and scared. Their hearts thumped hard at the sight. The adults looked at each and every one of them in disbelief and disappointment.

"Did he tell them about this?" Aria thought to herself in a panic. It never occurred in her head that Wave would help them, even more so, tell the teachers what they were doing even.

Mr Pom was in the front. He looked down and saw the desktop where Wave's face was flashing. His furrowed brows and furious eyes were asking for an explanation that was only answered by silence.

"Why did you do this, Korn?" he asked.

But he did not speak.

Instead, it was Wave who answered. "I don't know Mr Pom. If I hadn't been able to clean up their mess, it would have been disastrous."

Aria saw the glare Claire was sending in her direction. In guilt, her eyes remained on her feet.

"Well, I will handle my student. You manage yours." Ms Ladda headed to Koi whilst eyeing the Gifted students' teacher. She eyed her student first with a look that would certainly make her knees weak— or anyone, actually. She grabbed the journalist's wrist and headed out, leaving the Gifted inside.

Using her potential, Aria listened to the two outside and where they would head.

But her attention was quickly taken away when Mr Pom took a few small steps to his front. "It's my fault," he blamed.

Aria behind him looked up at his head with guilt dancing all over her face. She didn't mean for any of that to happen. She just wanted to stop Koi. That's it! But things went even worse than haywire, making her want to slap herself at her foolishness. But right then was not the right time.

"I failed to look after you well."

Claire opened her mouth to say something. But the only words that got out were, "Sorry, Mr Pom." She looked down as she apologized, feeling the guilt wash over her as well.

A short silence emerged. Their teacher sighed and nodded slightly. "You three have made a mistake," he said, looking back at the other two students behind him before back to his front, to Claire.

Their hearts skipped a beat. A mistake could only be compensated by a punishment. And they didn't want to think about the list.

"But I'll talk to the Director to let you off."

A breath of relief got out of Aria. She didn't notice that she had been holding her breath. As if a thorn was just pulled out of her chest. At least, they wouldn't face any severe punishment but crippling guilt.

But not everyone present was happy with their teacher's decision. A certain Gifted student in the computer room had his complaints: Wave. "Let them off? For what?"
