"Peter, I can't believe you wore that."
"I came straight from a meeting."
"You could have changed on the way."
"I had no room in my bag."
"And the sword..."
"Look it's just something I do, right? Look at you! I remember the time you showed up looking like you came right off a fishing boat. And smelling like it. And Matthew shows up all the time like he's dressed to go to the office."
"But we're going to meet at Gethsemane to pray with Jesus. The Zealots tunic and the sword are a little much."
...And as we walked into His presence I felt His eyes comfort me again. He saw the zealot tunic I was wearing, but didn't look at it and I felt like I was in a place where nothing mattered any more. In a good way. Wordlessly, He spoke to me.
"Come as you are."
