Today was a special day for me. It was saturday. I was already up before my foster family was. I tried not to make a sound as I crept down the stairs after getting ready. I made some sandwiches and desserts in the kitchen and I put them all in a picnic basket because I was planning on taking Alison on a date today. So I got my jacket and slipped it on while walking out the door with the basket. I texted Ali from my phone telling her to meet me in the park in 30 minutes. She had replied saying that she'll be there. I then walked all the way to the park in the scorching sun panting as I reached there. I found a spot of soft grass to sit on and layed out my picnic for Ali. Once I saw her walk into the park I ran up to her and gave her a slight kiss on the cheek. She giggled with her cute laugh and asked me
"What's all this"
"It's a picnic for you" She looked at me sincerly and said
"Aww Tyler that's the most sweetest thing anyone has ever done for me, thank you. But don't you think that I'm alittle under dressed for the park"
"No, you look perfect" Ali just gave me a sarcastic look like I was crazy. But I smiled anyway. Alison and I talked and laughed about the most stupiest things. But as Alison was eating her lettuce and tomato sandwich she stopped and looked at the ground as her smile faded into a frown.
"What's wrong" I asked
"It's nothing"
"Come on"
"Fine it's just--- well here's the story, my parents have a huge amount of money that they need to owe the bank. They borrowed money from them to pay off our morgage so in a few days the bank will take our house away since my parents haven't payed back the money they owe. So my parents are going to stay with my grandparents in Miami I don't know for how long and I wanted to stay here in Ackersville and they allowed it, but I will be staying with my aunt Tasha, here. Tyler I don't know what will happen to our family. It makes me think about how I would feel if I lost you because it seems like your the only one I have left"
"Listen to me Alison, your family will be fine and I promise you that I will never leave you" Alison wrapped her arms around me and said that she hope's so.

The day after I drove to Alison's house in the morning. I rang her doorbell and suddenly a woman opened the door and smiled at me and said
"Hello you must be Tyler. I'm Alison's mother, Alison talks about you all the time but I never got a chance to actually meet you in person until now"
"Thank you Mrs. Jennings. It's nice to finally meet you as well. Anyway I wanted to talk to Ali. Is she here?"
"Yes, I'll call her down" Mrs. Jennings yelled saying
"Alison come down here you have a visitor!" Ali rushed down the stairs and said hey to me. I asked her what she was doing and she said that she was packing boxes of stuff from her house because in two days they have to leave their house. I could feel what she was going through and it must of been really tough. I asked Ali if she needed any help and she said
"Ya if it's not too much trouble you could maybe help me pack my bag and boxes upstairs" I agreed to help her and Ali invited me into her house. We walked up her stairs and we went into her bedroom. This is actually the first time that I've seen her bedroom. But sadly this will be my last time to see it. Ali had many books on her shelves. I love to read and I was so fascinated by the many books. Alison went to grab a suitecase from her closet and when she turned around she smiled at me and said
"Do you like any of these books"
"Ya, they look so interesting"
"Well I read all of them over and over again. So if you want you could take a few"
"Really Ali, thank you so much" I scanned her shelves for some books. When I reached the last shelf there was one book that caught my eye. I picked it up and asked Ali about it. She told me that it was a journal that her grandfather gave her before he died. He had written many stories in there that he would read to Ali.
She walked up to me and said

"I need to show you something" Ali took the book and flipped to the first page. There was writting on the page with black. Ali read it to me
"Be the person you were meant to be. Look high and not low. In your path you will find what your looking for" I was fascinated by it. Ali told me that her grandfather wrote it for her to keep her always positive and happy. She handed me the journal and said
"I want you to have this"
"No Ali I can't take that from you"
"You can, consider it a gift from me for the picnic in the park"
"But, your grandfather gave it to you. It's a memory of him"
"Maybe, but I was told by my grandfather to share it with people I care about and that's you, Tyler I'm hoping that you'll always keep it close to you and remember me"
"I will Ali. I will never let go of it because your everything to me and that's what I'll always think about" I remembered how Ali smiled it was too wide or too small. It was somewhat like a caring smile something I never actually seen her do before. I came closer to her touching the bare skin on her neck. She touched my face ever so slightly and
leaned in. I could taste her strawberry
lipgloss that made me tingle. Suddenly her mom walked in the doorway and we jerked as we saw her. She smiled slightly trying to hold in her laughter. Then Ali said
"Mom what's wrong with you like seriously did you have to just walk in my bedroom without knocking"
"I'm sorry honey, but I just wanted to know if you two were hungry"
"Well were not so you can go now" Ali gestured toward the direction of the door telling her mother to go. It seemed sort of funny the way Ali got mad at her mom. But I didn't want to be rude because Ali seemed so serious so I just kept quiet. After a few minutes of silence I finally helped Ali pack the last box and put it in her closet. When we were finished I took a good look at her bedroom. It seemed bare and untouched. She was finally ready to say goodbye.
