One Last Chance

Chapter 20 Alison

     The little light stops at an old oak tree. I come closer and closer to it trying to not scare it away, but it doesn't move. It just stays very still. I keep examining it until I whisper "what do you want from me?" Suddenly it just disappears before my eyes and I am left in darkness. I keep calling "hello?" To see if the light will come back, but nothing. Soon enough I hear the soft woman's voice calling my name          "Alison?"
       "Yes, who are you?" I reply while looking around to see who it is, but it is still pitch black.
       "I see you followed my little friend"
       "Oh the light, I didn't realize it was yours. How do you know my name?"
       "I am a person of many things, my identity remains a mystery. But I know all names. Yours in particular. You are quite valuable."
       "I am no one. Just a young girl. Please stop with the riddles let me see your face" suddenly a long blonde haired woman appears in front of me. She wears a pure white long dress. Although, she has no shoes on. She has emerald green eyes and a short skinny nose. She is quite beautiful, I think.
      "Who are you?" I ask
      "No one you need to know about"
      "Okay...then but how did you know where I was?"
      "I'm no ordinary girl Alison, I know where anyone I want to find is, including you." She comes closer to me. She strokes her cold palms on my face and I get drawn by her eyes. I stand still, hypnotized as I stare into her pupils. She suddenly presses her warm lips against mine. As she kisses me I can feel her soul connecting with mine. It was a nice feeling. Until my heart started to feel like it was blackening. I couldn't move or feel anything. Suddenly a voice yells
     "Alison don't!" I turn the corner of my eye to see Connor looking right at me. He says
     "Alison wake up from the hypnotism. It's not real. " I don't know why I can't stop kissing her. My mind tells me to wake up and listen to Connor, but my body can't do anything.
      "Release Alison right now you bitch!" I can hear him yell, but the woman doesn't reply. I can see her just use her power as some type of radiant beam force to push Connor back. She releases me from her lips and I fall to the ground. I look at the two of them with blurred vision and watch the woman glare at Connor. He turns into a werewolf and charges at her. But before he's able to pounce she disappears before both our eyes. Connor is astonished and looks around for her, but after realizing that she's gone he changes back to himself and rushes to my side as I lay in his arms.
     "What...happened?" I asked
     "You were almost turned by that woman"
      "Turned into what?"
       "Turned into nothing, she fills your heart with only darkness and sucks out the light in you"
      "Oh...well thanks for sav...ing me I stutter. It seems like you know a lot about her"
       "Her kind are called sirens. It's what they do. That's how they gain power" he looks concerned
       "Connor how did she know my name?"
       "I'm not sure"
       "How did you know where to find me though?"
       "Werewolf senses remember" he smiles and says
       "Come on let's get you out of here" he picks me up and carries me in his arms back to the shack.

The next morning I lay in bed thinking about last night. I wanted to pinch myself to see if it was a dream. Maybe it was. Maybe it was just my imagination. Or maybe it was more than that. Suddenly I hear a knock at the door. The person says
       "Hey Alison, it's Jake, Can I come in?"
       "Sure." He walks in and says to me
       "I just wanted to tell you breakfast has been made and I was wondering if you would like to come down for some. I snuggle up against my pillow and bury my face in the sheets saying
       "No thanks Jake. I'm not that hungry right now."
       "Are you sure. I went to the grocery store early this morning and the food smells delicious."
       "Alright. I'll come down soon."
       "Okay." Jake smiles at me and exits the room closing the door behind him. 20 minutes later I decide to get up and walk down the hall toward the kitchen. I see everyone sitting at the table and they all are staring at me including Tyler. Jake says
       "I'm glad you decided to join us. Here take a seat." Jake pulls out a chair for me to sit on and as I do he tucks me into the table. I'm ever so serious. Suddenly Jake asks
       "Ali would you like some bacon?"
       "Sure, I say." He gives me a plate with six pieces of bacon and asks if I would like some eggs with that and I reply saying that I would like scrambled eggs and Jake says
       "Alright" He hands me my eggs and he sits down beside me and we all eat. Everyone seems quiet. There's no conversation. Suddenly Jake notices it too and says
       "Hey we should all start making a plan to find the Wolves Eye because isn't that what you all came here for?" Everyone stops and stares at Jake and Tyler says
"Well even if we go looking for it we are going to have to face most of the supernatural world. Knowing the warlocks they probably are building an army."
"How are we even going to be able to face them. We may be werewolves but they are much stronger than us." Says Alex
"We can do it. We're a pack, we stick together." Replies Jake
       "Okay, well we should finish up eating and then start heading out." Says Tyler. I watch everyone nod subtly. Soon after we start packing our bags. While I grab my backpack and shove a bunch of clothes and a flashlight in I see Jake walking toward a cabinet with a huge lock on the handles. He grabs a weird looking key from his pocket and jiggles it into the lock. I approach him and ask
       "What are you doing?"
       "Trying to open this cabinet."
        "Of course I know your trying to open the cabinet, but what's in there that's so important to retrieve." He smirks at me and says
       "Let me show you." Jake opens the cabinet and inside are a bunch of military weapons and other weird stuff. I suddenly ask
       "What's all this?"
       "Well as a werewolf you can't just have werewolf abilities. You need extra protection. Here in this cabinet I have rifles, hand grenades, weaponized blades, machine and shot guns." I look at him impressively and suddenly notice weird jars placed on the top shelf. I ask Jake
      "What's those jars up there?"
      "Oh those..." He grabs one from the top shelf and shows it to me and says
      "These are called Guarana, they are grounded herbs with bird feet which trap warlocks, but you also need to say a chant in order for it to work."
      "Uh...okay then not creepy at all." He smiles and says these warlocks are tough bastards these could help us." I nod my head and smile. He grabs 3 jars filled with Guarana and a few hand grenades as well a blades, machine and shot guns and shoves them all into his duffle bag. Jake then calls out and asks everyone if they are ready to leave and everyone responds all standing ready at the front door with their bags. Jake smiles and says let's go save our people!
