First Date

You were shocked, and stopped moving for a moment to look at him fully. You saw a hopeful twinkle in his eye, and a nervous smile. "Really?" you could barely breathe. You didn't think he was looking at you like that. You thought this was friendship he was offering the last few days, and didn't think he would be attracted to you as well. He nodded his cheeks a little flushed, and you blushed a beat red while nodding back. "Yes Bucky, I'd love that" you finally whispered leaning back in to continue dancing.

Bucky continued to hold you close while dancing with you, swaying to the music as the playlist continued on with different songs. Every once in a while, he would put you in a turn, and once he even dipped you back. You felt breathless with the emotions that were running through you. You barely knew this man, but he was sweeping you off your feet. You knew what was available in the news articles, and what you had read online when you were following the team's advancement against Hydra, or aliens, or even Gods from other realms. He always seemed to have a cold demeanor in the photographs, but he was really quite sweet and very charming in person. That was your take on him, since you came into your cabin one night ready for a fight. It almost felt like months ago, instead of almost a week. As the music changed, you would quietly sing to most of the songs while he kept you close to his chest. You started to wonder if he was getting tired, but he never missed a beat. You finally had to pull back to check on supper, and turned towards the window to see everyone had been back for what looked to be a bit. They were all on the porch talking softly, as though afraid to interrupt what was going on in the kitchen. You flushed again, and grabbed the pot holders so you could pull out the food. Bucky was close behind you grabbing the second pan with his metal hand. After checking the meat, it was properly cooked. You must have been dancing for over an hour and hadn't realized it. Bucky grabbed the plates and helped you fill up the plates before he went to open the door and call everyone in.
Nat walked in first with a huge grin on her face, giving you a quick pat on the butt grabbing her plate. Each person came in had the same grin, and you started worrying that Tony dropped the news already.
"So when did this happen?" Sam finally asked from the couch where he was eating.
"What happened?" you looked up curiously. "Did I miss something?"
"You and tinman dancing" Tony spoke up. "It was earlier today"
"No, it was last night the first time" you flushed a little, concentrating on your food.
"Even more interesting. Did that affect your decision?" Tony looked at you, and you almost dropped your fork.
"No Tony" you shook your head, feeling heat come up from your chest to cover your entire face.
"What decision?" Nat perked up from beside you. Tony looked away, realizing his mistake. You guessed there was no time like the present.
"I decided what I'm going to do, either going back with you all or staying here" you took a bite of food, and chewed slowly.
"And?" Steve asked expectantly.
"I have conditions" you decided to answer after hesitating for a moment. "Tony agreed to all of them except one"
"That was really an afterthought so you can't argue that one" he responded quickly.
"Its still a condition" you took another bite of food.
"You can't be unreasonable" he shook his head.
"What's the condition?" Bucky sat back looking at Tony. "Make an exception"
"Can't, its not in me to give her this one"
"So we are at an impasse" you crossed your arms with a smirk.
"You also said that I can't lie, in this case I would be lying if I said yes" Tony grinned, knowing you were coming no matter what.
"I also said to give me a few days, and you barely made it through the next meal" you raised an eyebrow at him.
"Technically, we could have lied about what decision we were talking about" he gave you a knowing smile.
"You're coming back with us, right?" Bucky asked hopefully, reaching out and touching your hand.
"Yes, but I'm still against the cat suit" you sighed. You heard a few yelps of joy around the room, while Bucky squeezed your hand and gave a wide smile.
"What's wrong with a cat suit? You'd look great in one" Nat leaned forward with a huge grin on her face.
"I don't have your confidence Nat" you flushed again, feeling like this was going to be an ongoing thing, otherwise you would just spend the rest of your life being beat red.
"We already started on your cat suit" Bruce sounded nervous. "Although, I am excited to see how Fury reacts to the video feed one what she did in the training room"
"How did she do?" Steve asked curiously.
"She almost broke my room, and if she would have released that last bit of power she was holding, she might have" Tony admitted. "I also talked to Pepper on the satellite phone earlier. The renovations are almost completed. The furniture has been put in your room, and you have a sun roof now so you can see the sky from your bed which is just a really a custom swing the size of a queen size bed. We had to make some alterations, but it looks like a four-pollster bed and still swings back and forth. They tested it with four people, and it held just fine. Wanda's already put your clothes and books away. Which by the way, did you want to bring your books back with you or are you okay with letting me buying you some more?"
"I'll buy some more books, I have savings" you thought for a moment. "Is there a library around the compound? I can always go there"
"No, but I should add that into the renovations" he started typing into his phone, food almost forgotten and you rolled your eyes a little. "Oh, we also went with a sage green for the walls, since you seem to like being outside so much. Wanda picked out black satin sheets and comforters for the bed though, and a few other colors but I wasn't paying attention. Pepper announced another girl's day sometime next week if we don't have any missions by the way"
"Can I bring my teddy bears with me?" you picked up your plate to put it in the sink.
"You can bring everything you want" Tony smiled. "You're still wearing the cat suit"
"I better head into town tomorrow and get some pet food for when we get there" you thought out loud to yourself.
"Actually, Pepper was pretty excited that there's going to be pets and she's already gotten them dishes and food. Also hired a guy to pick up any dog poop during the week. She also installed pet doors on your bedroom door and balcony door. It has a sensor for their collar so they can come and go as they please"
"How did you do all of this, when I only agreed today?" you finally demanded.
"You really think I was going to let you say no?" Tony smirked, and you rolled your eyes again. "I would have taken a very long time to fix the jet, then made every excuse to stop by until you gave in"
"Is he serious?" you looked at Nat.
"I was with him on that one, we all kinda were" she shrugged.
"I've got the dishes" Tony volunteered, giving the last piece of steak to Chewy who hadn't left his side.
"I already made your training schedule yesterday" Steve blurted out suddenly.
"I may have helped him with that one" Clint admitted.
"I still have to go to town, and quit my job tomorrow. Say my goodbyes..." you trailed off, feeling sad suddenly.
"I'll go with you, if you want" Bucky took your hand again. "We can grab coffee while we are there"
"Sure Buck, that sounds great" you felt relieved you wouldn't be alone for this. You bit your bottom lip thinking about being alone with Bucky for a bit tomorrow would be nice. You looked at him, and noticed he was staring at your lips again. He suddenly looked you in the eyes and his eyes were a little darker than usual.
