The failed experiment (Bucky x reader)

Wedding part 1

When the jet landed, you looked out the window to seeing a paradise. You could feel the butterflies in your stomach as you looked around, looking forward to seeing the surprise Bucky had created. You closed your eyes taking in the sounds of nature around you, including the sounds of waves crashing. The back of the jet opened up and Penelope and Maria came running in already looking beautiful with their hair and makeup done up perfectly.
"We are so excited, they even did our nails with the same color" Maria vaulted herself at you, hugging you closely. You giggled and gave her a kiss on the top of her head.
"Come on, we need to get our dresses on, the groom is waiting" Penelope came over giving you a soft hug. "You look like a princess" she cooed at you. "Just like a fairytale" she hustled Maria over to Nat who was holding their dresses and shoes.
"You still look perfect" Wanda sighed. You watched curiously as Penelope and Maria changed quickly, giggling to themselves. You looked out the windows seeing the ocean again, excited seeing the sunset was just about to start. You felt blessed to see something so wonderful. A makeup stylist came in while you were starting to wonder about what Bucky was up to, and if he was handling everything okay and they started fixing everyone's makeup. You smiled softly as they repainted your lips and added just a little more shimmer to your upper body. You toyed anxiously with the ring that was acting as your inhibitor.

"Alright, both dad's are here" Tony walked in with Bruce and they both went to give Pepper and Nat quick kisses. They both carried bundles of flowers which they started handing to the girls. Bruce brought the largest bouquet to you. The flowers seemed to be overflowing with blue and white roses and babies breath. The flowers seemed to drip down going forward almost to your hips from your ribs where you held the bouquet.
"Maria, go first" Bruce smiled and she started running to the end of the jet, then slowed down quickly making a turn and you could hear music started playing. You recognized the song "Perfect" being played by what sounded like an orchestra. Penelope went next, then Wanda, then Pepper, before Nat grabbed your hand and gave a small smile before she made her way out of the back of the jet. "Are you ready Sunshine?" Bruce took one of your arms, while Tony took the other, looking like he was ready to tear up.
"Born ready" you nodded with a smile. They started leading you out of the jet, and your memories with Bucky filled your mind. From the first moment you saw him, and could barely tear your eyes away, to the carnival when he made you feel so safe around so many people. You thought of the first night he slept with you outside, and then that first dance, that still warmed your heart. You had so many special memories. When he came back from missions, how he made you feel like you were the only person alive that he wanted to see. How he always kissed you as if you were the only person in the world. How he would make love to you, making you feel so powerful and beautiful every single time. How he took the news of the twins coming, and how happy he was. Every step was another memory.
You heard the music change to here comes the bride, and you past a tree line and took in a breath. It was better than any fairytale, or any book you had ever read. There were roses, butterflies, and lightning bugs everywhere. You saw at the end as Bucky made eye contact you, and damn he looked so handsome in his tux. He smiled, and you saw him tear up as Tony and Bruce brought you slowly closer. Steve tapped him on the shoulder and you saw the team grinning down at you as you continued to make your way down the aisle. You tried to hold back the tears as you got closer to him, you just wanted to break into a sprint but continued at the pace that Tony and Bruce set. They got right in front of Bucky and Tony lifted your veil giving you a kiss on one cheek, then Bruce took the other cheek as they handed you to Bucky and you stepped up to stand in front of him. He had the biggest smile on his face, and your face mirrored him.
"You look beyond beautiful" he whispered as the officiant started.
"You look beyond handsome" you felt another tear make its way down your cheek. You were barely paying attention to the words the officiant were saying. You heard them ask who gave you away, and you heard a third voice come up and looked into the crowd to see Pops standing with Bruce and Tony proudly. You couldn't help the smile that went across your face and he winked at you. You turned back to Bucky and he smirked giving you a small wink. You couldn't imagine a more perfect day. You heard the officiant call for the rings and Steve came over handing them to Bucky. Both of them looked to be a silver metal of some sort, but were embroidered with roses and ivy all around the ring. You gasped in shock looking at the beauty of everything, it was like Bucky put together everything as perfect as possible. You heard the officiant ask you for your vows, and you flushed.
"Y/N Banner-Stark, I promise to always come running home to you after every mission. I promise to love, honor, and protect you for the entirety of our lives. I have loved you since the day you took me to the summit near the cottage, and I've only grown to love you more and more every day. I promise when your sick, I'll stay beside you and rub your back and hold your hair and to take care of you. I promise to dance with you every day, even when your too tired, I'll carry you. I promise to hold and cherish you for the rest of our lives together. Forever is never going to be long enough, for how much I love you. I'm with you till the end of the line doll" Bucky smiled at you as you felt tears falling down your face. You felt something touch your face, and you knew it was Loki's magic.
"Do you take this man as your lawfully wedded husband?" the officiant asked.
"I really do, with all my heart" you nodded as Bucky slipped the ring on your finger. "James, I promise I'll always come home to you. I promise that no matter where I am, my love for you will only grow. Loving you has become as necessary as breathing, and I can't imagine a day in my life where I can't stand by your side. I promise if you ever get sick, to stand by your side no matter what and help nurse you back to health. I promise that if you ever need me, I'll drop everything to come to you. I promise to hold you dearest in my heart, and to cherish you as you deserve to have been cherished your whole life. I promise to keep loving you as long as there is breath in my lungs and beyond that. Forever won't be long enough for how much I love you. I'm with you till the end of the line, handsome" you smiled and saw him crying a bit.
"Do you take this woman as your lawfully wedded wife?" the officiant asked.
"I really do, with all my heart" Bucky mirrored your response and you slipped the ring on his vibranium hand. You clued in the metals looked close in color and looked at him and he smirked. "It's indestructible" he whispered.
"Is there anyone that feels these two should not be wed?" the officiant asked, and the entire place went completely silent. You looked to Bucky anxiously. "Very well, you may kiss the bride"
Bucky grabbed you quickly and dipped you back as he smashed his lips against yours, he quickly deepened the kiss and you ran a hand through his hair. He let out a small groan continuing to kiss you as though his life depended on it.
"Alright, don't forget you need to go get the photo's taken. She needs to go fix her makeup now" Steve chuckled and Bucky pulled back only to give you a few chaste kisses on the lips as he helped you stand back on your feet.
"I now have the honor to introduce Mr and Mrs Barnes" the officiant said loudly and Bucky barely missed a beat, taking your arm in his and walked proudly down the aisle with you. After he got to the end, while the others were following in pairs, he dipped you again to give you another kiss.
"Let's get those photo's taken, the reception is going to be worth it" Bucky whispered against your ear and you let out an involuntary shiver. Loki stopped in front of you both and you saw his eyes flash green for a moment.
"Makeup and hair are fixed, let's go. This tedious task shall take a while, Tony hired a few professional's" Loki warned you.
"What about Pietro, and Peter? I love the photo's they take" you were surprised.
"They haven't stopped taking photo's yet love, I doubt a few of those bossy ones will deter them" Loki grinned. "You look fantastic, but why not red shoes?" he raised an eyebrow.
"They only came in white" you admitted. "They match the dress"
"That just wont do" he shook his head and you looked down and giggled. Bucky let out a small chuckle seeing your shoes change to a red color.
"Thank you" you flushed.
"Come along, we have photos to take" Tony started pulling at your arm and Bucky held your hand. You followed him to an oversized garden and the rest of the wedding party was not far behind you. They started taking photos of the entire wedding party, then started breaking it up into different pairs where Bucky was with the guys and you found yourself with the girls. They took photos of you with Bruce, Tony and Pops, then took a few photos with just Bruce and Tony. They took photos of you with Bruce and Nat, then photos with just Pepper and Tony, then pictures of you just with Nat and Pepper. They kept moving you around to different area's and doing different poses where you went. You were surprised the girls had the stamina for it, so you soldiered on when you had started to get tired. The sun was still setting, when it finally came to the photos of just you and Bucky. You didn't miss a beat when he picked you up to give him a kiss on the cheek. He turned his head quickly and kissed you leisurely on the lips while you heard the camera's going. They put you both into a few different poses, your favorite was when he dipped you back again, only because you loved it when he did that. He always would deepen the kiss quickly when he pulled that move. Just to tease him while they were talking about having to change out the photo cards you grabbed him by the tie and pulled him down. The look of surprise on his face was worth it as you kissed him softly when he was close enough to your face. You felt his hands grab at your ass almost immediately after as he pulled you close, while still holding the tie and he deepened the kiss automatically. You couldn't help but giggle when you heard Pietro and Peter announce proudly that they got it. Bucky at one point got down on his knees and kissed your stomach as he gazed up into your eyes and you blushed. Even through all the material he found the baby bump.

When they were finally done taking all the photo's you both were the last ones to get to a gorgeous white tent that was full of roses, ivy, lightning bugs, and butterflies everywhere.
"I'm proud to announce, Mr and Mrs Barnes, get up here kids" Tony spoke from the front table. Bucky didn't miss a beat, and picked you up walking through the tables. You wondered how he wasn't tripping on the train but saw that Wanda's eyes were red, she was obviously taking care of it. As you got to the table, you saw that the gift you had brought for Bucky was in his chair already and Nat gave you a wink from beside you. He helped you into your chair, and you put the gift bag on top of the table for both of you as he pushed in your chair. He leaned down and gave you another kiss on the cheek.
"Thank you everyone for coming for our very special Avengers wedding. If someone would have asked me a year ago about adding more recruits to the team, I would have laughed until I cried. Steve had even agreed with me, with the team dynamic, we didn't want to continue adding to the team. We both agreed, we were full" Tony started and he looked over at you both with a sense of pride. "Bruce and Nat went on a recon mission to what we thought had been a dead base and suddenly disappeared for a few days. The best thing that could have happened to this team, and clearly to Bucky Barnes, was a phone call that I received telling me that they were safe, but Hydra tried to take them down. At first I was furious, but then Natasha started telling me about this woman named Y/N that saved their lives without a second thought, using abilities that I needed to see for myself. With a team, you always worry first about each other, wondering if there's a trap or if they are going to be okay. We took a small team and we went to this little cabin in the middle of nowhere and saw that the other jet was indeed in need of a lot of repair. There's these three dogs..." he stopped and pointed to Harry and Chewy with their bow ties and Leia with her bow. "That were apparently more protective of the owner than the property. Fast forward to almost four o'clock in the morning I see my jet suddenly coated in ice and this woman come running in, shimmering with power and a fierce look on her face. It slowly went to confusion and then acceptance as she recalled her powers and took the frost away. I knew then I didn't want to leave without her, and I could see the look on Steve's face that mirrored the same decision. We don't always agree, but we did that day. Over the next week of living at that little cabin and getting to know this woman, she started evolving from refusing to be touched, to allowing those little touches. Nat was the one that started working on it, but you know who really got her out of her shell?" he paused and smiled at Bucky. "The only man that I thought wouldn't. They've been inseparable since. That day, because of a downed jet, I ended up gaining another daughter, and now I have a son as well" Tony grinned. "And for those who don't know, we are also going to be grandparents". You felt Bucky lean over and kiss you on the cheek. "Turns out this unassuming woman was also one of the smartest people I have ever met, and has helped us build new equipment to take down bases. She also risked her life, fighting alongside Loki to protect our families, knowing she was pregnant and it was dangerous to do so. So, here's to the newly weds. They surprised all of us, and it's been worth every moment" There was a round of applause around the room and you leaned over and put your head on Bucky's shoulder for a moment.
"I love you" Bucky whispered to you.
"As I love you" you whispered back.
