Chapter Six

Landon's POV
My father had saved a rouge girl who was cut by a hunter. She was beautiful, had light brown hair, fully blossomed, ink and metal. He wouldn't leave her, they wanted to adopt her. After they had me, my mom found out they couldn't have any more kids.

I always wanted a little brother or sister to take care of. The doctors were able to pump the silver and wolfsbane from her system in time. Then she stirred I expected a groan but nothing escaped her lips. Slowly her eyes peeled open. They were a light brown like her hair.

She didn't move she only stared at us until the doctor walked in. "Hello" he told her in a kind voice "can you tell us your name?" he asked her. She made signs with her hand "Avery Lockhart" he nodded smiling. "Can you speak honey?" he asked gently and she shook her head. "We saved you just in time, the silver almost reached your heart" he said sadly.

"We want to keep you here over night, just to be safe" he told her and left. My father Keller O' Connell looked down at Avery frowned, the Alpha in him coming out. "Why did you trespass on my land?" he asked her his voice steely.

She made hand motions, but neither if us knew what she said. Seeing the confused look on her face she reached over and grabbed a sharpie and paper. I watched as she elegantly scrawled out what she wanted to say.

I ran away sir, my family mistreated me, I was unwanted

Avery's face held no emotion as we read, "what pack?" my father growled angry Full Moon was all she wrote. Taking deep breaths my father calmed himself and forced a smile. "Avery would you please considered staying her with us?" my father almost pleaded to her.

Her face held shock but her eyes said "you want me?" "Of course we want you" I told her shocking my father and myself. Slowly she nodded her head and then my mom burst through the door. "Oh dear" she gasped and ran to Avery who flinched back.

"I won't hurt you" mom cooed and took her hand gently "we want to help you" she crooned and her eyes searched Avery's.

Once again she nodded.

Avery's POV
Alpha Keller was so kind to me. I had been here a week, Landon was do sweet. Ava grew stronger slowly and was able to speak without stuttering. "Come sit" Luna Alex said kindly and patted the spot next to her.

Alpha Keller sat next to her watching me intently. "Avery, we loved having you here" Luna started "we would love it if you let us adopt you" Keller finished smiling widely now. My throat closed up and I felt tears well in my eyes.

I refused to let them drop.

When I didn't answer they panicked "sweetie you don't have to if you don't ...." I didn't let Keller finish his sentence I just reached out and hugged him. He sucked in a sharp breath and hugged me back, "is that a yes?" Luna asked hopefully and I nodded my head.

'Welcome to the pack' Keller said in my head. I squeezed him tighter then let him so, he was flowing with pride. Grabbing my pen and paper I wrote them a note can I go get my car showing it to them I blushed. "Of course, LANDON" Keller yelled.

He shot into the room in a panic "take your sister to get her car" Alex told him softly and his eyes widened and he grinned. Standing I walked over to Landon only to be thrown on his back and carried to his car. I didn't fight him. Instead I propped an elbow on his back and cupped my jaw.

"Comfy" he joked as he walked and I tapped his back for a yes. "Do you have a phone?" he asked me suddenly and put me in the car. I shook my head, "any other clothes?" he questioned looking at my sweats and t-shirt. I frowned at him and shook my head. "Your killing me" he joked and took off.

The ride was short, but I didn't mind. Walking to my car I jumped in the drivers side "follow me to the mall" he ordered and marched to his car. I had no choice but to obey. This car ride took longer, I hated it.

"Come on" he dragged me to Forever 21, Hollister, VS, American Eagle, H&M, and plenty of other stores. "Avery" Landon said behind me as I finished putting all my clothes in my room. Turning to face him I was enveloped in a hug.

"No one will ever hurt you again" he vowed and kissed my head. For once I felt safe and loved.
