Chapter 19

Avery's POV
I woke up in the forrest, laying on the ground in front of a lake in my pjs. Groggy I sat up, what happened last night? I looked in the lake and saw myself, but I wasn't me. This girl looked strong,brave and had no fear.

She wore a white dress a sweetheart neckline with a frilly bottom. Her hair was curled with some pearl pins. And she had a maroon lipstick. I stumbled back onto my palms cutting them up.

Who was she? And why did she look so familiar?

Standing up and dusting myself off I turned back and faced a wisteria tree, the roots were tangles and it looks like a purple sky. Instead of going home like I should have, I climbed into the tree and sat on a branch, swinging my feet.

I breathed in and sighed in content, I loved nature. Resting my back on a branch I drifted off into a peaceful sleep.

Jacob's POV
"Jacob, I need you to search for Avery" Alpha Keller told me a frantic look in his eye. "She slept walked from the house" he chuckled lowly "but no one can find her, I know your her closest friend, please bring my girl back home" he asked me.

I nodded and tore off into the woods, her scent was easy to pick up honey and coconut. So good. Her scent led me to a wisteria tree where she slept on a branch. I grinned at how cute she looked.

Climbing the tree I reached out and cradled her in my arms like a fragile porcelain doll. I swept some of the hair from here eyes, and she stirred but remained sleeping. I walked taking my time to reach home.

I couldn't help but think of all the things Avery has done for us. She gave us a better home. Made us a better pack and family. She treated us with respect, and we gave her respect. She deserved it.

I didn't realize she was awake and stating at me until I met her light brown eyes. "Keller" was all I told her and she nodded. Finally we reached her house and I walked in and set her on the couch.

"Avery" Landon hugged her, she seemed shocked but hugged him back. "Dad wishes to speak to you" he told her once he let her go. She nodded and left the room. Landon had a sad face. "She still cares you know" I told him casually.

He seemed shocked "I've been so into my mate" he smiled remembering her. I just wish I had mine.

Avery's POV
Dear Alpha Avery O' Connell formally invite you to this years Mate Ball. Which will be held in the Royal Inn. This years ball is inviting the whole pack for mated and unmated Weres'. We look forward to seeing you there.

A ball? So cliche. Nodding to Dad he called the Committee and informed them we would be coming. "About the ball..." He got cut off when mom rushed through the door grinning.

"Shopping!" She declared and drug me to her car.
