Alejandro's P.O.V

I opened my eyes I felt the sun on my face. I grumbled and rose, grumbling that my head was pounding so hard. I went to my desk and grabbed some medications.

I chugged the tablets while drinking water.

I sat on the couch, my gaze fixed on the wall. I've never forgotten about Camila until now.

I closed my eyes and imagined Camila smiling at me.

I used to recall waking up with her and cuddling her until we both fell asleep. In her arms, while she was sleeping.

Seeing her mesmerizing smile relieved all of my anxiety. I adore her. And I'll never believe she's gone.

These previous several days have been bleak. I missed her more and more with each passing minute, second, and hour...

"Mr. Huxley." I heard someone knock on my door, and I sighed and massaged my temples.

"Come in," I commanded in a low tone. The door opened, revealing Claire.

"Where are the new insights I told you to research?" I asked and she passed me an envelope and a folder.

"These are all of them, Mr. Huxley." She said and I nodded.

I said, "I'll be ready in a few minutes, so get the car ready," and she nodded.

I signaled her to leave my room and she followed. The door closed and I stood up and approached my bathroom. I showered straight and when I was done, I did my daily regiment. When I stepped inside my dressing room, my suit was already ready and ironed.

I got all ready and took my suitcase and exited my room. I went downstairs while on a phone call with some investors.

"Denzel, I'll call you later," and hung up.

"Alejandro!" I heard someone say, and the front door opened. I gazed at the door and saw Gretchen.

I said her name and hugged her.

"I'm so sorry I'm late," she said and I nodded.

I took her to New York since she was my wife's best friend. Carson, my bodyguard, was staying with her. Gretchen and I began working together at our firm. She was the company's new manager.

We made our way to the dining room and sat down.

"How is the investigation going?" she inquired, and I shook my head.

"They haven't discovered anything yet," I reply emphatically.

"It's been a year," she said quietly as the servants brought her breakfast.

"I know," I answered, "but we shouldn't give up hope," I added and she smiled.

"It's a shame Camila couldn't attend my wedding," she mentioned, and my eyes widened as she showed me her ring-adorned finger.

"Did Carson propose?" I was taken aback, and she nodded.

"Congratulations," I said as I stood up to offer her a hug.

"Thanks," she said, and I said back down.

We started to eat and discussed some new projects.

"That's all, Sir," my worker said, and I nodded and signaled him to leave.

The report was good, but it wasn't what I expected.

"Sir, you have a business meeting in five minutes." My secretary said and I nodded.

I walked out of my office and exited the building. My driver opened the door for me and I sat inside the car.

My secretary told the driver our destination and he nodded and started to drive.

I sighed and looked at my watch. It was afternoon. I had a business meeting at this restaurant with some new investors.

They wanted to talk about it through lunch.

"Mr. Huxley, we have arrived," Mariano, my new driver said, and I nodded. I stepped out of the car and into the restaurant as my secretary followed me.

When I entered, I was brought straight to the VIP area.

"Mr. Huxley." The investors greeted us, and I bowed my head slightly.

"Why don't we start the meeting?" I said, leaving no room for small talk, and all of them nodded, I sat down in my chair and started the meeting.

"Well, that would be a good idea. I love your proposal." Mr. Wells remarked, and I nodded and gave him the contract.

"So have you all made your decision?" I asked and all of them nodded.

"We agree. We are excited about investing in your company, Mr. Huxley." Mr. Wells says all of them stood up and shook my hand.

"I'm glad you all made good choices," I remarked, and all of them smiled.

"Waiter, champagne please." Mr. Wells said, The waiter quickly poured some champagne into our glasses.

After discussing our plans, I got a phone call. It was Dante.

"Excuse me," I spoke and all of them understood and I quickly exited the VIP area and went to a corner.

"Dante?" I immediately said on the phone, and I heard Dante exhale with relief.

"Mr. Huxley, I apologize for bothering you, but we discovered a clue as to who caused the fire," Dante adds, and my eyes widen in surprise.

i electric feeling of happiness rushed through me, I could finally give my wife justice.

"Where have you headed?" In a serious tone, I inquired.

"At the main headquarters, sir." He informed me, and I promptly hung up and returned to the VIP area.

"Mr. Well, I apologize, but I need to go," I said, and he stood up, smiled, and shook my head.

"Of course I understand. If you ever need help, give me a call." He said and I nodded.

I was walking out of the VIP room, dashing to the exit door, when I ran into someone.

When the individual landed on my chest, I instantly placed my hand on their waist to keep them from falling.

The girl whimpered and glanced up at me, and I praised those eyes. The girl's face was hidden under a mask, so I couldn't see her. but something about her felt so familiar.

"Camila?"
