Ditching school was easy. I had avoided the premises of Moordale Secondary school for the remainder of the week. I had hidden from the world by hiding in the safety of my bedroom.

On Friday, my mother had pushed me out of bed and forced me to attend school. Not that I had the intention of going, I just dressed in the usual attire many of my fellow peers had seen and put on my sunglasses to hide the fact I had been barely sleeping.

I text my best friend Olivia to meet me at the front gates of the school, where I pick her up. "Bitch, where the hell have you been?" She asks getting into my small Volkswagen. "Everyone thinks you've run off to join a cult!"

I let out a long sigh before pulling out of the car park before I was seen by anyone on campus. "Sorry, just avoiding the drama," I mutter, sipping on the iced chocolate I had purchased on my way to pick up Olivia.

"You mean Otis." I freeze at the mention of the boy.

"Precisely. I suppose he's living it up large with his new slut." I wonder, driving into the town center.

"If you actually bothered replying to mine or Anwar's texts you'd know that Maeve has gone to America for school," Olivia explains. "Are you doing okay?"

Pulling the sunglasses down my face I expose the dark circles that have made themselves present on my face. My makeup was not able to cover them in the rush I had since my mother forced me out of bed. "I think I'm pregnant Liv."

There is a shocked look on Oliva's face as Ruby shows her the period tracker app that said she was now two weeks late. "I've been throwing up most mornings, yet I can't stop myself from eating bread!" I recall in shame.

"I thought you were allergic to gluten." Olivia mentions, which I agree to.

"I need you to go into the shop and get a pregnancy test for me," I order her in a demanding tone.

"What? I'm not buying one of those! Get it yourself!" Oliva argues.

"I can't be seen buying them, you have a boyfriend on the other hand," I explain.

"We broke up, he was fifteen remember!" Olivia recalls. "You know what Ruby, I'm done being ordered around by you. Have fun buying your own pregnancy tests, I hope Otis' spawns bring you joy." She harshly says before getting out of my car and slamming the door behind her.

There is a moment of hurt on my face as I watch Olivia walk away, even flipping the finger in my direction.

Letting out a big sigh I put my sunglasses back on my face before entering the corner shop. I go through the aisles looking over all the products before getting to the section that sold both condoms and pregnancy tests. "Do you need help with anything?" A voice boredly asks, which frightens me.

"No, fuck off," I mutter, ignoring them as they walk away annoyed with my cursing.

I look over my options and decide to get a couple of different brands before going to the counter and throwing the tests at the cashier. Avoiding eye contact. They let out a harsh groan before telling me my total. I pass her over a twenty-pound note before she hands the tests back in a paper bag.

Getting back into my car I look for the nearest park that happened to be deserted due to school being in session for the younger children. I found the public bathrooms disgusting, but I needed a private location to find out the truth.

Peeing in a container happened to be the most disgusting thing I have ever done, as I dump the tests into the yellow liquid and pull them out to develop the results.

I had locked the stall I was in while waiting. I busy myself by looking at my nails that were chipping due to the neglect I had enforced on them.

It was a long three minutes. It felt like a lifetime before the timer on my phone informed me it was time to look at the results of the four tests in front of me.

Looking down I see three positive results and the other had a faint second line on it. Picking one up, I look at it in disbelief. "Fuck!" I call slamming the tests at the wall in anger.

Could things get even worse for me? I was recently single and the baby daddy of my unborn child was an awkward lanky teenager that broke my heart.
