Ruby had disappeared once more from my life.

No, she hadn't left Moordale again, she had chosen to ignore my existence. Although it was hard to ignore her when she still walked through the halls of the high school as everyone prepares for the senior exams. She would have her friends guarding her in the hallways, like security guards.

I had truly fucked up.

Eric would be the one to give me updates on one of the scans Ruby had attended. He had handed me an ultrasound picture one lunchtime, as I was brushing up for my chemistry exam. "Here, Ruby wanted you to have this. A daughter, congratulations dude." He would chime with a smile.

I grab the image to see the development of my daughter in the picture. "Did Ruby tell you the gender?" I ask curiously.

Eric shakes his head. "It's pretty easy to see she doesn't have a dick." He says, opening his bag to get out his lunch. "She's undecided on whether to allow you there the day she's born."

I let out a sigh. "I have tried every form of communication to apologise, I went sent a bloody letter. All I'm met with is silence." I explain, there was harshness in my voice. "I don't know what she wants."

Eric gives me a look, suggesting he understood how I felt. "Well it might make a start is Maeve buzzed off," Eric suggests, noticing that the girl was coming our way and taking the empty seat next to me.

"Hey boys!" Maeve greets with a large grin plastered on her face. "Aw, is this the little gremlin?" She asks grabbing the picture I had left on my lunch tray. Taking a moment to look at the contents.

"I'll take that," I say, not caring if I sounded rude as I snatch the picture out of her hand and place it securely in my jacket pocket. "Maeve, don't you have a dick appointment to attend?"

"Did you wake up intending to be an asshole today baby?" Maeve asks unzipping her own bag and pulling out a bag of crisps. Eating them loudly, which irritated me even more.

"Maybe I did, will that make you go sit with other people?" I ask, trying to ignore the sounds escaping her mouth. She knew what she was doing, making the situation worse for me to be forgiven by Ruby.

"Do you think Ruby would enjoy my presence?" Maeve asks, curious.

Eric is the next to speak. "Maeve, fuck off!" He suggests, a glare present on his face. "Can't you tell you're not welcome here?"

"Are you sure you're still welcome here?" Olivia asks, entering the conversation. "I don't think guys that knock up girls she go unpunished."

I roll my eyes at her comment. "You're right," Maeve speaks. "Otis, baby, should we go create a sibling for Ruby's spawn?"

There is a look of disgust on Olivia's face, as I glare at Ruby. "Maeve, piss off," I say, seeing she was refusing to get out of her seat. "This is just pathetic."

I quickly gather my books before getting out of the seat quickly. I was fed up with the drama I was being pulled into, all because of Maeve and her insecurity that she was losing her friends. She's the one that didn't make up her mind when she had the chance to date me freely.

I was sick of it. It needed to end.

That's when I stop dead in my tracks, noticing that Ruby was entering the cafeteria along with Anwar at his side. That's when I get the idea to turn back towards Maeve. My face burning with rage. "By the way Maeve, if you were a true friend you'd be supporting my decision to actually be a decent father. Instead of inserting yourself into a situation where you don't belong, just because it brings you joy!" My voice is raised, gaining the attention of those nearby. "I through with you and this bullshit, so kindly go and ruin other people's lives!"

"So you're breaking up with me after three days?" She asks, shocked.

"We were never together, to begin with, so go and mess with someone else's emotions for a change!" I say, not caring what comments were said by her or my classmates as I turn back towards the entrance. That's where I find Ruby standing there, an impressed look on her face. "Maybe sit and listen to the full story before you run off with assumptions."

There is a small head nod from her before the adrenaline in my body decides to quickly grab the girl and I pull her in for a small heated kiss. The hormones in my body ignited with passion, they wanted more but I had already put on enough of a show. "Laters, baby momma," I say quickly, a satisfied smirk when I pull away from her.

There is a look of disbelief as I decide to walk off, ignoring the constant screams from Maeve across the room. "Oh and Ruby, the number's still the same."

Once outside into the hallway, Eric claps my back. Shocked I had that much confidence to pull off a stunt like that. "Well aren't you one sly bitch!" He says, clapping my back. He had followed me out.

"Was just damage control." I say shrugging.
