My daughter was born at 2.53 am.
The moment I laid eyes on her all the pain and anxiety about bringing a child into the world would disappear. Her cries would echo out any of the other voices present in the room as the doctors rush to check over the vitals of my newborn before she is placed safely in my arms.
I had chosen Otis and my mother to be present in the birthing suite, since they would both follow important roles in my daughter's life. Otis would hold my hand as we both look at our daughter who was still covered in the mucus.
"She's so beautiful!" My mother would chime breaking the chain of thought.
Although I was exhausted from the pain of childbirth, I still had a large grin present on my face.
Eventually other guests would arrive to see the newborn, when the nurses had taken her to be cleaned, giving me a chance to relax. Otis let out a yawn as my father is wheeled into the room, he held a teddy bear with congratulations balloons. "So I hear I'm now a grandfather." He mentions making me burst out with laughter.
"You have a granddaughter." My mother informs him. "She's perfect."
My daughter is brought back into the room, the nurse gently places her in Otis' arm. His expression showed he was concerned he was going to harm her. "What are you going to name her?" My father asks coming closer to my daughter.
There is a moment that Otis and I make eye contact, he tears is gaze away from our daughter before giving me a quick nod. He turns his attention to the infant in front of him. "Otis and I decided on the name Madison Alyssa." I inform my parents in the room.
Otis' mother had declined to be here. Wanting to spend an evening with her own partner and daughter. Frankly, I had the most important people in my life for the birth of my daughter and I didn't care about the hate Jean Millburn had for me.
"It's beautiful. Little Maddy!" My father beams with a bright smile. "Millburn or Matthews?"
Otis and I both let out a small laugh each. "Millburn." I comment, with Otis giving me a charming smile. "Can I hold my daughter again?"
Otis obliges to my request and carefully hands her over into my arms.
Looking down at her she is sleeping peacefully, clean from any muck she had been covered in previously. I'm able to see the small tiny features she had, a dark head of hair and a fair skin tone close to Otis'.
This would be a moment I would cherish forever.

Merry Christmas! Here is a small update as your present. Sorry for the lack of updates lately, life has been very stressful at the moment. However let's celebrate that the baby is finally here! Do we like the name? Any predictions for the future?
