YOUR POV:

Winter has finally arrived.

I've never been able to stand it, personally.

It's too cold, it's too damp, everything is always wet, and did I mention it's so fucking cold.

I trudged my way through the thick layer of snow, it was the first time it'd snowed since last winter, but it was back just as strong.

Don't get me wrong I think it's nice to look at, but I would trade the world to be back basking in the sun in the freshly cut summer grass.

As I rounded the corner, I spotted Hermione.

But I also spotted a tall figure next to her- blonde hair sticking out from under a green Slytherin beanie.

My brows pinched together, a quizzical look casting upon my features as I tried to tune into their hushed conversation.

'-Draco I simply don't know.' She shrugged before adding with a huff,

'And even if I did, I wouldn't tell you. It's private.'

A breath of air visibly blew from his mouth, a sigh presumably.

'Hermione! Please?' He drew out the e at the end of both words.

I'd stepped further back now, placing my back on the pillar, grateful the wind wasn't overly loud. Otherwise I doubt I'd be able to hear their conversation.

I wish I could truly 100% feel bad for eavesdropping on a clearly private conversation.

But I honestly didn't, I could be kind of nosey sometimes. Especially when I know I'll have too many questions about it buzzing around if I don't stick around to figure them out myself.

'Dracooooo-' she dragged out in a mocking way.

'I'm being serious Hermione! I don't want to embarrass myself.'

'I know draco, I know. But I truly don't know whether or not she—'

A loud cacophony of bird calls had to sound themselves right at what I could consider the most vital time.

Fuck.

As a last ditch effort I swung myself around the corner again as gracefully and causally as possible- which totally looked like more of a eager stumble but regardless-

Without hesitation I called out,

'Hey Mione, hey Draco!' I said, cringing inwardly at how overly chirpy I sounded. Hermione knows how much I hate winter, and would totally be thinking I'd be a walking corpse for the next 2 weeks until a sunny day is bestowed upon us.

Hermione's brows shot upwards, and I saw Draco visibly tense- despite the multiple layers he was wearing.

'Oh- hi y/n!' She said hurriedly.

'H-' Draco sighed after the audible stutter he made,

'Hi y/n.' He turned to me, cheeks and nose red from the cold.

His smile was unsure, yet had also had giddy look to it.

Oh.

Suddenly the words drowned out by the birds no longer seemed as crucial, because the look he just flashed at me was hardly less discrete than him holding a-
"Y/N I AM SO SO SO INLOVE WITH YOU PLEASE LOVE ME BACK"
-sign above his head. Ok maybe a tad dramatic.

Sorry but you know how we are-

I mean maybe it didn't seem as obvious to others, but my mother always said I read even the toughest expressions like a book.
