YOUR POV

A breath blew from my lips as soon as the cool night air hit my skin.

I carefully tiptoed down the bridge, and my feet felt like they were going to fall off. God only knows where the heels I'd originally been wearing ended up.

A caw from the forest spoked me, and I let out a pathetic squeak, which muted the moment I seen a figure standing further down the dividing bridge.

For half a second, my heart rate spiked, thinking it might've been Filch.

But whoever it was had too good of posture for that.

Their head was turned in my direction, and maybe if I wasn't somewhat drunk, I would just turn the other way.

But then again, the saying curiosity killed the cat,
Never seemed to phase me.

Actually, I was almost glad I was drunk, it was keeping the wave of awkwardness at bay as I stood next to the stranger.

There was hardly a trace of light, but in the dark I could pinpoint a few prominent features.

They had a sharp jawline, set brows and fetching eyes, that somehow managed to look bright despite the absence of light.

"What are you doing?"

The voice hit my ears, Draco.

A scoff made its way out of my mouth, "What am I doing?" I chided.

He quirked one of those sharp eyebrows as though I was inconveniencing him.

Probably interrupting his moment of sad solitude, where he stood here and wondered why he was the way he was.

A bored look crossed his face when I didn't continue on.

"Why are you such a pain in the ass."

I was stood next to him now, looking out onto the lake and the ripples in its water, that was only just visible.

It's hard to find anything to compare our relationship to. It feels different to everything else. I'm drawn to him, and the world always puts us in places like this. Not that he'd hear about any of this.

But at the same time I want to knee him where it hurts. He's one of the most egotistical people I think I've ever met, it's almost repulsing. This he definitely hears about.

"Thanks for your feedback Draco." I rolled my eyes, driving my elbow in his side.

He grunted, his hand reaching to grab my wrist.

Familiar with his grabiness, I tucked my arms to my chest.

"Perfect example. You elbow me, and then make sure I can't retaliate."

"Wow, must be really hard for you." I turned around, sliding my back down the bridge railing and sat on the ground.

He didn't hesitate as he followed suit, sitting next to me. Side plastered to side.

"It is." He mumbled, casting his gaze up to the hundreds of stars filling the sky.

I sighed again and he didn't miss a beat before commenting.

"You've been drinking."

"I have."

His leg seemed to twitch, "You're not drunk?"

"Tipsy for sure." I chuckled, fiddling with the hem of my dress, in my favourite colour.

"So you're tipsy, and just galavanting around Hogwarts. How safe." He clenched his jaw, as though the thought truly worried him.

"It was too stuffy in there." I reasoned, a yawn forcing its way out of me.

He ignore me, "You're tired."

I fought the urge to elbow him, he always points out the obvious, like as if I'm not aware.

I didn't answer him, only let my eye lids droop down.

"You're gonna fall asle—"

I shushed him, "You keep pointing out the obvious. Be quiet."

"See, asshole." He muttered, but his hands landed on my shoulders gently.

Is it weird to say they felt like they were made to cup my shoulders.

There is no way my shoulder fits that perfectly in this man's hands?

He started guiding me down, and I only made half the effort to resist him.

"What are you doing, Draco."

He chuckled, and I could see dimples on his cheeks through my half-lidded eyes.

"You just asked me to stop pointing out the obvious idiot."

"Ok, we'll here's your exception. Take it buddy." I muttered, grateful he was holding me up.

He laughed a bit more, "You're drunk—"

"Tipsy." I corrected.

"Drunk," he scoffed, "And tired, so I'm putting your head on my lap."

He didn't let me protest as he finished laying me down.

Firstly- Holy fuck. His thighs were muscly, quidditch was doing gods work for him.

And secondly, they're so, so warm.

I let out a hum of contentment, feeling his hand slip into my hair I'd also apparently taken out.

Don't remember doing that, but I think that's the least of my worries.

All I wanted to remember was this moment.

"So soft, darling." He whispered.

My eyes would've shot open if I wasn't so content.

Something low in my stomach stirred at that... darling, dar-ling, d-a-r-l-i-n-g.

"I like that." I mumbled into his leg.

"Like what, y/n?"

"When you call me darling... it's nice."

He let out a noise, sounding low from his throat,
"I'll keep that in mind."
