Halloween. One of my favourite holidays ever. It doesn't beat Christmas, but I still adore it. It's autumn, the sun sets early, and I can sit at home watching (mildly) scary movies and eating a variety of snacks while waiting for the adorable trick-or-treaters to knock on my door. I didn't usually get many back at my apartment on Halloween, but when I did, I swear I caught a case of cuteness overload. I always made sure to buy the best sweets to give out and watch their little faces light up.
It's a shame I can't spend this holiday back home, maybe with Iris, watching movies and continuing my annual tradition of snacks and movies at my apartment. But I know a lot of things will change and have changed since the moment I got here, so I try to let myself get used to the idea of that.
It's my free day today, a Sunday and I'm excited for what the girls have planned today. They all mentioned that tonight, we'd dress up, watch movies, and eat a whole lot of snacks. They all put together a costume for themselves, matching of course, and also put together one for me too so that we were all matching.
It wasn't anything huge, just some simple 'sexy' outfit, as Sam described it. And she wasn't wrong, in a way. When she showed me all of our outfits, they were all red body suits with matching red fishnet tights. The outfits also came with some cute little devil ears and mini tutus, which seemed a little bit too short. I've seen the outfit done before, but I don't think I would ever wear anything like this.
I stare at Sam with open eyes, eyeing the outfits, especially the slightly see-through body suit. "Okay, hell no Sam-"
She rolls her eyes at me before interrupting, "Oh come on! We'll all look so hot and sexy and fucking beautiful with these, and we're wearing them for ourselves! It's not like we'll be leaving our room." She says to assure me, but I'm still not very convinced. I mean, I've never worn anything like this, or even imagined it, it's very showy. But, if we aren't even leaving our room, then it should be fine to wear this, right? It's only the girls who will see me, and we'll all be wearing the same thing, I'll be fine. Maybe I need to step a little out of my comfort zone sometimes.
"What will we be watching?" I ask her, changing the subject. Sam smiles, knowing she's convinced me. Elena springs off of her bed and walks over to the TV on Vera and Sam's side of the room. It stands on a chest of drawers, separating both of their bedside tables and beds. "A scary movie, obviously!" She says happily, picking up the remote and throwing it to me. I manage to catch it in time before it drops to the floor.
"I'm not too good with horror movies- I mean I love Halloween and all but horror movies scare me, like a lot," I tell her, lightly tossing the remote onto my bed and sitting down on it, the mattress dipping softly as I do.
"We don't have to watch anything too scary, like the Halloween movies, those are way too scary. And gorey, ew. Ooh! How about 'It'? I love that movie!" Vera pitches in. Iris loved horror movies, I think she mentioned 'It' was her favourite horror movie, she could never get me to watch it though. The second she finished giving me a summary, I knew I could not watch it, especially at night. I shrug my shoulders at Vera's movie choice, waiting for anyone else to bring any other choices up.
