chapter 26 - mom

Maya's POV

"Can I talk privately for a minute?" Robert said with the fakest smile I had ever seen

"sure" I mumbled before leading him into my office where he immediately closed the blinds and did the one thing I feared.

He locked the door.

"So not only did you leave, but your sister left, and then right when I was already deprived of what I like, you took my last option away from me. You know what that means right?"

"no," I said in disbelief walking backwards as he pushed me against the wall

"I think you do" he smiled

He started doing what he always did, trying to knock me out. I knew he would be determined to do this as he wouldn't want me to make any noise but unlike any time before, I didn't let him do it, I fought.

The only thing I could think about was carina and ava so I did the one thing I could think of, I made noise, I started kicking him wherever I could reach and trying to get us to my desk as I knew I had things on there that I could use.

Trying to fight against him alone was pointless, I just needed to get someone's attention so they could help. I managed to walk us over to the desk where I knew I kept a metal holder and picked it up before throwing it against the glass door with all my power.

Vic's POV

I could hear something in Maya's office, but I didn't think too much of it until something broke. I went to the door and tried to open it but when I realised it was locked I went straight up to the beanery knowing I needed help

"Dean, jack. Come with me right now!" I yelled before running back down with them following me

"What?" they asked confused

"Kick the door in," I said

"why"

"Do it!" I yell

The rest of the team had come down, knowing something was wrong, and watched as dean kicked the lock off the door, revealing a man hovering over Maya's limp body, covered in bruises, cuts and scratches

As soon as he turned around, deans fist met his face, knocking him out as we all rushed over to Maya who wasn't unconscious but was completely out of energy.

"no," Ava said looking at what her dad had done to who she considered her mom

Dean picked Maya up and carried her over to the aid car where they stitched up cuts all over her face and hands and checked that none of the bruises were anything more than that.

"Oh Maya" carina said who was sitting next to her with tears rolling down her eyes

"Carina?" she asked with more energy from the drip she was now on

"I'm here," she said as Maya reached up and took the oxygen mask off

"Robert" she muttered

"That was him?" she asked getting a nod in return

The rest of the team was in the beanery except for warren and I who were sorting her out and carina and ava who were both crying

"I can't believe he did that to you," ava said

"I can" Maya muttered before indicating for carina to tell her

"You know Robert?" carina asked her

"Yeah, the one that...?"

"Yeah, that was him"

"My... my dad... was her... rapist?" she said in disbelief, tears streaming down her face
