chapter 33 - are you gay?

Maya's POV

"morning" I whisper to carina who is lying awake on my chest

"Are you ok?" I add

"I don't know" she mutters as she pulls the blanket up further to cover as much of her face as she could

"Are you hungry?" I ask as she shakes her head subtly

"It's ok" I whisper as I notice her eyes fill with tears

"Do you want me to tell you about something to take your mind off of it?" I say as she nods, looking up at me slightly

"Despite the terrible things happening with her dad, I really think that there is something between her and ava" I smile

"you're really committed to them aren't you?" she says showing a weak smile

"of course I am, I think they would be brilliant together and Olivia already said she's gay"

"Ava has never said anything about it though"

"I know, I'm still very hopeful though" I joke

"Can I go and check on them?" I ask as she nods and lets go of me, turning and wrapping herself back up in the duvet

"I'll be back in a minute," I say as I go outside and know that they must both be in ava's room as the couch is empty

"Hey," I say quietly as I see them both laying in each other's arms, still half asleep

"morning" they both groan

"I was just checking you're alright, do you need anything?"

"we're good," ava says as I turn to make my way back to carina

Ava's POV

"Are you ok?" I ask Olivia quietly

"Everything hurts," she says with pain obvious in her voice

"I know liv, I'm sorry," I say while rubbing my hand up and down her arm

"Is it the bruises?" I add

"And the cuts, the fact that he raped me so hard that it burns, I need it to stop," she says desperately trying not to cry

"What can I do? How can I make it hurt less?" I say wanting nothing more than to take the pain away

"Just be here, don't go"

"I'm right here liv, I've got you," I say as I grab my phone to text Maya, asking her for some painkillers

"Here you go," Maya says as she hands me 2 tablets and a glass of water that I give to Olivia

"Do you want to try and sit up?" I ask as Maya leaves

"Yeah, but slowly" she mutters

I pull myself up so I'm sitting up against the headboard before helping her get up and pulling her, so she is sitting in between my legs with her back laying against my chest

"The tablets will kick in soon and it should help," I say

"It better or I don't know what I'm going to do"

"I've got you" I whisper, placing one of my hands over her stomach, watching her relax

"That helps" she mutters

Maya's POV

"They slept together last night," I tell carina

"Really?" she says smiling slightly
