Chapter 13

Isabella Rose

I sit in the pool room, thinking. Something I like to do often.

After the matches finished, I went to my room to freshen up before I decided to chill in here for a bit.

Yes you're right, I can't swim. I'm literally just sitting on the edge of the pool, vibing with the lights as I sink my feet into the water.

I will learn one day. Perhaps after this is all over.

"You did a great job earlier" Vincent says walking in.

"You think?" I say proudly, knowing full well I just kicked the ass of one of the best fighters.

He chuckles, sitting beside me and placing his feet into the pool. "I won't lie, at first I was slightly afraid you'd end up dying just from one of his hits. But you proved me wrong".

"Of course I did. It's not that easy to kill me" I smirk.

"So, any updates?" I ask curious.

"About the mission?" He says with furrowed eye brows.

"No silly. About you and your mysterious girl" I laugh.

His confusion quickly changes into realisation, "Well, I'd say we've definitely gotten closer. In fact I was telling her about you and she said she'd love to meet you" he says smiling.

"Well Vincent you better find a day because I'm getting tired of being trapped here" I mutter.

"Don't lie Isabella. You love this place" he says smirking, "especially the people in this place".

"Well, it's not that bad so you're right about the first part. Not so sure about the second" I say looking away.

"Sure" he laughs.

"You know, if I'm going to meet someone I'd prefer to know their name" I say referring to his girl. I definitely wasn't trying to divert the topic.

"I see what you're doing, but I'll let it slide" he grins whilst I roll my eyes.

"And to answer your question, her name is Lilly". I don't miss the way he says it with such admiration.

"Vincent and Lilly. Cute" I smile.

My smile slowly fades as I remember something he told me, "Hey why haven't you told Valentino or Lorenzo yet?".

"Well that would be because Lilly has no idea about my involvement in the mafia. So I need to speak to Valentino first about my relationship with her before I'm allowed to tell her. However, he's been under so much stress, and has been busy making plans for his revenge, I don't want to say anything just yet" he sighs.

"Right. But you shouldn't have to sacrifice your love just for the sake of Valentino and his revenge" I reply slightly annoyed.

"I know that, but I have to make sure she's the one" he says, some doubt evident in his voice. Poor Vincent, scared of having his heart broken. And then there's me, I don't think I even have a heart anymore.

"I'm sure she is, don't worry. If you've gone from someone sleeping with random girls regularly, to suddenly someone loyal to one special girl, then it has to mean something" I tell him reassuringly.

"It definitely does" he says lost in his thoughts, smiling.

"Well, I'm going to go bother one of the other men on guard so I shall leave you lost in your thoughts." I say as I stand up.

"Of course you are, miss trouble" he chuckles also standing up.

"Miss trouble. Seriously?" I mutter, scrunching my face.
