On the Brink

It has been four weeks since everything went down with Noah and Anslee.  The press got wind of the story and of course did what they always do, blew it right out of proportion and didn't bother to get the real story.

I had read anything from Noah got jealous because Anslee and Chris decided to kick him out of some sorted threesome relationship they were all having. To they both were cheating on each other, which couldn't be farther from the truth.  Noah Rollins is the most loyal person I have ever known and yes he had his wild days where there was a different woman every night, but they all knew what the deal was and he never hid one from the other.

When he met Anslee though it all changed and he was completely, 100% devoted to her and I thought she was the same with him.

Things have been going well at work though and just like Mark told me, he announced his retirement to the owners and in the same meeting they offered me to take over for him.  I accepted of course and with that promotion came a nice bump in pay and even more responsibility.  They quickly assigned an assistant general manager to shadow me and learn the ropes of the every day to business, so I could focus more on meeting with the scouts and seeing who was up to move around.  We were really gunning for the cup this year, so if your last name wasn't Rollins or Morretti, you were up for movement.

I was in the middle of a phone call when there was a knock on my door.  My assistant Carrie pops her head in and I quickly put the call on hold. "Yeah Car, what's up?"

"Um Mr. Morretti is here to see you.  I told him you were on an important phone call, but he insisted he needed to speak with you," she says looking a little flustered.

I know that look and even I still get a little flustered when I look at Justin.  He is a very good looking man and I am sure he knows it too.

"Give me five minutes and then send him in," I say.

I finish up on my phone call and sit back in my chair and wait for him to come in.  He opens the door exactly five minutes on the dot.

"And what is just so important?" I ask standing up.

"This," he says walking over to me and pulling me into the hottest kiss I think I have ever had.

I pull back and look at him smiling. "I think that this probably is very inappropriate to do in my office."

"Probably, did you want to come back to my place and continue this?" he asks wiggling his eyebrows.

"That is a very tempting offer, but as you can see by my desk.  I have a lot more work to do today before I can leave," I say motioning to my desk.

"I really can't tempt you? I'll cook your favorite dinner, a little wine and maybe a dip in the hot tub?"

"That all sounds wonderful, but I really need to get this done. Being the first woman in the GM seat for this organization I need to show the owners that I can do it," I say.

"Okay, but promise me you won't work too hard and that tomorrow you'll take me up on my offer."

"You got yourself a deal," giving him a smile.

"Alright I will leave you, but know that I really don't want too," he says giving me a wave and heading out.

I sit back down and try to concentrate on my work.  A few more phone calls later and lots and lots of emails back and forth.  I look at the time and see it's going on 8:00.  My stomach growls a little and as if right on cue my cell phone rings.  I look down and see Noah's smiling face.

"Hey," I say.

"What are you up too?" he asks me.

"Just leaving the arena,  I am starving and need to get some dinner," I say walking to my car.
