"Manik stay out of this I can manage Surya Kumar Reddy my way" Nandini said walking towards the meeting room
"But Nandini..." Manik had told her about Prof Bhaskar's call and Nandini turned sharply to him
"But what? You will stay out of this! You are here for the experience, take it. Don't involve yourself in this dirty politics" she said sternly and he just nodded not wanting to argue
Nandini entered the room and first thing Manik saw was a guy lustfully looking at Nandini who was dressed in the western formals
"Hello Mr Reddy" Nandini just acknowledged him with out a handshake.
Manik and Nandini settled and the meeting started
"You want to hike the fees by 30%" Nandini looked at Reddy
"I think it will be profitable. And the way you are designing the syllabus and putting u standards. Won't you think that will be worth it." Mr Reddy said
"This meeting is for syllabus changes Mr Reddy hike in fees was not the agenda" she said going through the proposal papers.
"Yes but this can be thought upto. And I mean a little profit is not harm to anyone..." Mr Reddy said
"Mr Reddy. Iss school mein kids also come from parents who won't have this kind of financial status. It will lead to sever drop outs" Nandini said looking up, firm with her stand
"A little loss is ok isn't it. What do you think Mr Malhotra? You are toh a businessman" Mr Reddy turned to Manik.
Manik looked at Nandini, then at the teachers of the board and then at Reddy
"I think I need a coffee... This meeting is going for three hours, we should take a break" he said and Nandini gave him a look
Manik call for refreshments which were given to everyone. Nandini was reading through some papers when she heard Reddy say "You should eat to Nandini... Women like you are suppose to take care of their health themselves." This took Nandini's attention. She looked around everyone looking at them.
"Women like me? Means?" Nandini asked
"Means women, who act all strong headed. Usually they end up being alone and no one to take care of them. Infact I suggest you try to back off and let a few of us men to take care of some things. Also you know til that you can try on hands on something else, something like pleasing men... This attitude and rudeness is not attractiveness at all you know. Try being soft sometimes" he said creasing her hand. Manik clenched his fist and glared at Reddy
Nandini shove his hand and said "Woh told you I want you to find me attractive?" she raised her eyebrows
"Better stay in your limits or I can show them to you" Nandini said and Reddy glared at her and Nandini glared back without a flich
"Iss bar haat jhatka hai next time tod dungi samjhe" she said and glared at him
Reddy excused the meeting and instinctively turned to Manik on her right to see him smrik
"Why didn't you interfere?" she asked him
"I know you are capable Babe" Manik whispered back. Though a warmth spreed through her seeing his confidence on her she rolled her eyes saying "I was talking about the fee hike"
"You only said to stay out of it" Manik told her and Nandini glared at him as he casually sipped his coffee
After half an hour the meeting resumed and Manik approved the new syllabus structure as the majority was on Nandini's side.
