ABHI MUKTI'S WEDDING DAY
"Manik!" Nandini whined walking out of the closest with saree rounded all around her.
Manik who was talking on the phone turned to her. Gave a quick instructions and hung up
"Get in... The door is not lock" he said fearing someone would just walk in looking for them as he saw her
"Manik mujhe abhi tak saree pehne nahi aati!" she said ignoring his word and whining
"Aa jayegi na baby and main hu na. I'll come help you. Get in please." He said calling someone again
Nandini collected the saree around her and walked back to the closet but she turned at the door and said "Mukti has asked me not to get late. You are getting us late."
"Ek call bas. Yeh ek call karke aata hu" he said and she nodded with a pout. He saw her standing inside the door waiting for him and knew she was not going in without him to get ready. He quickly instructed Cabir on the parking and walked in with her
Nandini was pinning his broach as he set his hairs looking in the mirror. She glanced up at him and muttered something to herself
Hearing her mutter he narrowed eyes on her
"Kya haan?" he asked knowing she was cursing him
"Aapne late karvaya hai" she said and added "Mukti ki daat aap hi khana"
Unlike everytime he didn't retroot or gave back he just ignored and she looked at him frowning
"Tum gussa ho?" she asked and he shook his head and she kept looking at him
"Kya?" he asked correcting his collar
"Tum sad ho" this time it was not a question but a state and when she said it he looked away
"Main sad nahi hu" he denied
"Awww" Nandini said pinching his cheek
"Sweetu" she said as always. And if was anyone else he would have been annoyed but he liked it when she did that.
"Nandini..." he chided
"Kitni baar bola hai yeh mat karo" she completed his sentence playfully
He turned away from him, she blocked his way. Again he turned away and she blocked his way. Again he turned away and she blocked his way. Annoyed he made an irritated noise and glared at her showing eyes like a mother does.
"Manik aap sad ho na" she said and he rolled his eyes but then she just hugged him
Taken aback by her gesture he first stood shocked and then a smile made his face. He hugged her back
"She is leaving you, doesn't mean she is now no one to you" she said softly
"I know. I just wish... Wish Dad was here." he mumbled and she hugged him more tightly to comfort him
"He is watching you and he is happy for her and proud of you" she said breaking the hug and cupping his face
"Pata hai kyu. Because you were there for her when she needed him Manik" she said and he nodded choking on emotions and then suddenly tears made way from his eyes
"Manik" she said and wipped his tears getting emotional herself
"Bhai main ne bola tha na don't be late!" Mukti said entering the closet and stopped. Manik and Nandini turned to see her all ready as a dulhan. Manik turned away wiping his tears and Nandini pit up a big smile
