Chapter 9: Alien VS Mutants

Meanwhile Splinter and the rest of the heroes were stealthily searching for Karai in the cell blocks but to their surprise, no one was guarding the cell blocks.

The whole space was empty and abandoned which caused suspicion and confusion to the others.

"Don't the Foot normally have people guarding these places?" Casey whispered.

"They do but...no one is here" Leonardo replied.

"Be cautious though; who knows what the Foot are up to" Splinter whispered.

Eventually they found Karai alone in the cell before Donnie called out quietly: "Found her"

As soon as Donatello picks the lock off the cell door, they enter the room to which Karai smiles happily and sighed out: "I knew you guys were come"

"You're a part of our family, Karai; we wouldn't leave ya to rot" Raphael winked at her as Leonardo unlocks the cuffs off of her.

Karai got up and looks at her father and sighed: "Forgive me father, I failed you"

"What are you talking about, Miwa?" Splinter softly questioned.

"I got captured and I should have been more focused; I should've been better than this ... Forgive me" Karai bowed her head in shame, thinking she failed her father.

Splinter looks at her daughter sadly before he pulls her into a warm hug and comforts her: "You haven't failed me, Miwa. Getting captured doesn't mean you fail me, these things happen and I would go through everything to get you back again"

Splinter lifts her chin up and adds with a warm smile: "You are my daughter, no matter what and I'll always be proud of you like I am with my sons"

Karai smiles happily and hugs her father: "Thank you Otōsan"

"Alright then, let's get out of here before the Foot finds us here" said April.

"Wait!" Karai suddenly halted them. "There's something you must know"

"What is it, Karai?" Leonardo quizzed.

"The Shredder; I overheard his minions saying that they caught a Kraang robot and are interrogating it as we speak," Karai explained.

"Why would they interrogate a Kraang?" Donatello asked.

"It's clear that they worked with the Shredder, I'm guessing he's trying to find out why they stopped the invasion" Raphael replied.

"Well since we're still looking for Mikey who is still trapped by that Virus creature then maybe that Kraang hostage must have the answers to where that kidnapper is holding Mikey at" Karai explained.

"What if they don't?" Casey asked in concern.

"It's our only chance," Karai said to her father.

Splinter looks at her daughter then to the others before he nodded: "Miwa's right. We got to get to that Kraang, it might be our only chance to find Michelangelo"

Suddenly they heard a loud agonised bellow echoing the place as it made them jump with alarming fright.

"What the hell was that?!" Casey exclaimed before the others shushed him.

"That sounded like...The Shredder" Karai replied.

"Oroku..." Splinter whispered.

Soon they made their way to the source of the scream before they entered the main throne room as what they saw next stopped them all dead in their tracks with their blood dropped cold.
