Before Sirius finds out that Remus likes him, they were brewing amortentia in potions class and everyone takes turn smelling it and describing the scent. Remus takes a whiff and starts to turn red as he stammers, "Uhm. L-leather and dog f-fur."

James cracks up.

Peter is hiding a smile.

Sirius wants to grab Remus and snog him in the middle of class but instead he just leans over, takes a whiff and says, "smells like chocolates and books."

That's how they confessed their feelings for one another too.
