Remus hating the beach because he could never fully enjoy it. He didn't want people seeing his scars so he always stayed covered up.

When the mauraders go for a trip to the beach during one summer vacation Remus ends up falling in love with the beach. And it had nothing to do with the fact that Sirius looked perfect in swimming trunks, his lean muscles on full display. It also had nothing to do with the fact that Sirius' hair seemed to sparkle in the sunlight when it was freshly drenched from the sea water or that after two weeks at the beach Sirius' usually pale skin now had a perfectly sun-kissed tan.

Yeah. It had nothing to do with those things at all.
