Magnus stayed in their apartment as per Alec's instruction. He can't even leave their loft since Alec's been checking on him from time to time. And since Magnus is bored, he decided to try a few cakes for their reception to pass time.

As he enjoys the cake tasting, someone knocked on his apartment door. And despite not expecting anyone, Magnus snapped his fingers and let the visitor in.

"Did you not eat down in Edom?" Magnus slightly frowned. Well, he does looks like he haven't eaten anything but to his defense, he did eat down in Edom, just that the foods in Edom weren't that tasty like these cakes in front of him.

Instead of arguing, Magnus snapped away the cakes and turned his attention to Lorenzo.

"What can I do for you, Lorenzo?"

"I just came by to pick up few of my things."

"Help yourself." Lorenzo started roaming the whole living room looking for his belongings that he have left in Magnus's apartment.

Usually, Magnus and Lorenzo can't stand each other's guts. They don't even want to stay in the same place where the other is. But right now, Magnus badly wanted to talk to Lorenzo.

"I believe that would be all. See you, Bane -"

"Lorenzo," Magnus took his courage to speak. Lorenzo and him may not be the best of buddies but Magnus knew he needs to talk to Lorenzo.
"I'd like to say sorry and thank you."

"'Sorry and thank you?'"

"I'd like to apologize if I didn't help you when Asmodeus turned you into a. . . you know." Didn't help or didn't able to help? Magnus has been thinking of what's the right words to say. 'Didn't able to help' wouldn't be appropriate since he can actually help Lorenzo and turn him back but Magnus chose not to.
"We both know I had a choice, but -"

"It's all in the past, Bane. Maybe if I were in your shoes I wouldn't also want to anger and fight a prince of Hell without any back up." Magnus nods, silently thanking Lorenzo, that the warlock somehow forgave him for not doing anything.

"And uhm, thank you for risking your life to help save mine." Lorenzo felt something building inside his chest. He may have received a lot of compliments and appreciation already for doing something bare minimum but Magnus's words made him feel overwhelmed.

"I was just doing my part as a member of the warlock community. That's all."

"Alec told me how helpful and supportive you were. He means a lot to me."

"Actually, the trip to Edom turns out to be something of an inspiration. You know, I never had a family. Never thought one was even possible." Magnus smiled sadly. Of course, he knows very well what Lorenzo meant. Only a few warlock children had the luck to be born in an accepting family like Catarina. Some were successful enough to live with their mundane families not until their marks shows up like himself, Magnus, but a lot of warlock babies, whose warlock marks have already emerge since birth, didn't even had the chance to live their lives.
"But the way your loved ones rallied for you, for each other, showed me a family doesn't need to be something you're born into. Families can be made. . . One day, I hope to be lucky as you in finding one of my own."

Magnus can't deny the fact that despite having a terrible past, he did found the best family he didn't knew he wanted and needed.
